Some positivity from the Crows' board: "It shows the ferocity of the crow and the players bleed Adelaide?"

ololololol
Most of the sheep don't realise South Australia does not have any crows, they are ravens (an Australian raven to be precise)

Crows aren't in fact particularly ferocious. The story that they steal shiny objects, sometimes off people, is a myth perpetuated by a TV prop crow attacking Father Jack and stealing his spectacles in the Father Ted episode "The Mainland". Crows do attack their own kind as can be seen from the events of 2014.

Crows certainly don't inflict wounds like the ones that are meant to be portrayed on the clash jumper. IMO this jumper will come close to rivalling the Manchester United grey jumper for a short lifespan.

Hird vs ASADA rematch in the Federal Court. Hird side lacking in KPF's* rubbed out by Middleton J. the last time these two teams met.

I'm tipping ASADA to win in a close one.

Edit: Titus, as always...
I saw a bloke wearing an Essendon jumper at Parliament station on my way home this afternoon. Thought that was a bit strange for a Monday in November but then saw the news on TV when I got home and realised that the guy must have taken a day off work to go to the supreme court and standbyhird. F***wit.

Some solid shit stirring by Rucci.

Rob Gerard’s plan for 2030 Commonwealth Games leaves a legacy for Crows and Adelaide United

AFL Season 2030. It could be the first that presents Adelaide not only as a city with two AFL teams but also two AFL venues.

Rob “The Protector” Gerard wants to deliver the 2030 Commonwealth Games to Adelaide. The main venue for this international event would be Adelaide Oval, the current AFL home of the Crows and Power.

Gerard’s vision includes a second major venue, one with a roof ... and one that will stand as a legacy to South Australian sport. But to whom?

The same question followed Lord Sebastian Coe after London hosted the 2012 London Olympics. Today, the Olympic stadium built for those Games is without its athletics track as it is being converted to the new home of English Premier League football team, West Ham United.

Gerrard’s new theatre for sport — most probably at the International Sports Gateway at Mile End — would face the same dilemma of finding a meaningful life after the Commonwealth Games. The most obvious beneficiaries as Gerard’s favourite local football teams, the Crows in the AFL and Adelaide United in the A-League.

Both will need such a gift in 2030. The Crows need to consider moving away from their West Lakes base, particularly while their presence (costing the SANFL $2 million a year in maintenance bills) hinders the SANFL clubs’ wishes to maximise their return from the sale of the Football Park precinct.

Like it as it keeps the Crows' reliance on a $2 million / year handout from the SANFL in the public eye. It's little wonder their past CEOs have been reluctant to speak out about being sucked dry by the SANFL when they've forever had the implicit threat of their $2 million / year allowance being taken away.

Me if they left Adelaide Oval:

Effing Melbourne has two AFL venues. Not sure which year we'd be able to justify two AFL stadiums to service Adelaide's population but I'm fairly sure it won't be feasible by 2030. Rob, IMO wants whatever he can scam from the public purse. I think he'd settle for a new square stadium for his latest toy, Adelaide United.

If the Crows up and left West Lakes they have zero leverage on AO stadium deal negotiations. As it is, they have one tiny little lever, they could offer to leave to free up the West Lakes land "if", etc, obviously there are details to be worked out, like can they get City of West Torrens to stomp all over the SAAFL lease on Thebarton oval, but the biggie (ironically) is where to find the cashflow to develop a new training base there, given so little money is being put away due to the effing stadium deals they've been living with like the bunch of compliant bovines they are. Hopefully they build too close to South Rd and run foul of the next South Rd widening.
