At some point he needs to take responsibility for himself.
I understand that. But they have washed thier hands of a lot of issues. If it was just Ben Cousins then fine.
A mate of mine recently leased a property to Daniel Kerr and had to evict him after he drove a car through the front wall in a drug fuelled rage.
Chris Mainwaring with a stand named after him after he died of an overdose, I know he was long retired, but still very much in with the playing group at the time.
Dean Cox recently revealed how deep the drug culture was at that club, it was huge.
I know I'm a bit opinionated, and have had my fair share of "good nights out" as well, but if my son was employed by an AFL club and through this club, was introduced to and became involved with the leading underworld figures of the state (as Ben Cousins was with John Kizon), I would want them to be held accountable. As a parent you have have your duty sure, and eventually everyone needs to take responsibilty for themselves, but clubs have a duty of care as an employer to provide a safe and healthy work environment.
Don't forget, a lot of lives were ruined by West Coast Eagles and their drug culture, and the club was never penalised. In fact they won a premiership when it was at it's most rampant.
It's the same with Richmond and that Jake King guy. If my son was at Richmond last year when they had an ex-sargeant at arms of a bikie gang in the change rooms, I would definately be asking them to explain themselves.
