Bickley wasn't untough, but it's like the 80s nostalgia people have where "footy was so much tougher in those days".

Dropping the knee into your opponent at the bottom of every pack doesn't make you tough. Michael Wilson was tough. Mark Bickley was a thug whose toughness, while not lacking, was not notable.

Well said ES
I thought i was the only person on the planet who saw that thug bickley do that!
I thought i was going mad but you have saved me from being institutionalized for being delusional.
bickley was an absolute coward and a thug he should be named and shamed completely for his galling behavior on the field.

Kieran Jack is apparently in hospital with an abdominal injury, add that to Franklin who's there getting his head injury looked at it's been a pretty rough preseason hit out for them.

Whilst it would've been nice to win this is another reason why i'm just glad we got out of our 3 hit outs relatively injury free.

Edit: apparently Jack isn't in hospital but he has sustained a pretty nasty rib injury.

Exactly. Because we totally want our guys tackling our first month plus a showdown carrying a bunch of injuries picked up in games that mean nothing.

So the Swans unconvincingly pinch a last second win against GWS, the Giants look good they have so much depth in their midfield & tall forward stocks they should jump out of the bottom 6 this year & finish mid table.

Whilst you don't want to see any side cop injuries i'm hoping the preseason Western Derby is a particularly fierce encounter lol.

You blokes are judging Bickley on his gutless snipe on Wakelin.

That's enough to hate the guy.

But,

He was no coward. He wasn't the most skilful bloke getting around and hardness at the ball and man were almost all he had. Hate him all you like but apart from that incident he didn't snipe and could've retired respected by all.

...so nothing more than a GOP. He must have got into the HoF for his hit on Wakelin, not in spite of it.

After the 'But' no longer exists. Only the memory remains

NUFC, YES.
How does field umpire Stuart Wenn officiate 341 games across 20 seasons but only preside over 5 finals and zero grand finals?

Meanwhile Shane "119/38-15/The Fix (Ess vs PA/2011)" McInerney has managed 21 seasons for 399 games, 24 finals and 2 grand finals.

Cripps looks a pretty good player. Those guys who have late growth spurts always turn out to be gems cause they end up having the skills of both a small and a tall. Bontempelli another example.

and there was one who played for us who was pretty handy. Not as good as Brown or Lucas but still pretty good.

Ross Lyon said Ballantyne is in doubt for rd1 & more likely to be back for rd2, as much as I'd like that to be true I don't trust Ross Lyon to be giving that sort of info away 2 weeks ahead of time.

Nick Suban was subbed out with a hamstring injury early in the first qtr.

Ling opened a bar in Geelong and on opening day/night realised he hadn't applied for a license.

AN embarrassing blunder has left Geelong footballer Cameron Ling with his own bar but no licence to sell alcohol.

VIPs partied last night during an exclusive opening of Geelong's newest bar, but a mistake with the liquor licence application will allow no sales of alcohol for more than a month, the Geelong Advertiser reports.
