I'm now watching Jack Watts play and trying (seriously) to see the +ves in him like so many of us do with Butcher. It's easy to slag Watts off, and I've done it quite a few times. But he gets picked every week so I'm going to see if I can sort out why.

He's a poor man's Justin Westhoff.
For a #1 pick they earmarked as the franchise forward they were building around, he's been unacceptable by any measure.

Good cripple fight, this.
Actually that was yesterday with Gold Coast v Essendon. The commentators on ABC Grandstand virtually gave up on the teams and the umpiring. Disappointingly the game sharpened up late. Blues aren't following the script, they look good.

North's last 7 games

GWS away - W
GCS away - W
Geelong home - W
Essendon home - W
Brisbane away - W
Carlton away - W
Melbourne away - W
St Kilda home - W
Freo home - W

They lost a Prelim last year as well, right?

You're on the same wavelength I was on. I was looking at their draw and going 'the flip? Where's their double up with Sydney? Hawthorn?'

Instead, they had double ups with, wait for it...Geelong, Essendon, Brisbane, Fremantle and Richmond.

Essendon and Brisbane.

For a team that finished 4th.

What a ****ing joke.

Norf and the Crows always seem to get a golden run from the afl in terms of the fixture. Regardless of where they finish.

Find the biggest jumbo value pack of dicks you can and cram as many as possible in your mouth, Melbourne!
Urgh, why did I tip you clowns?
I hope Gary Lyon is enjoying it. :)
the satchel just keeps adding more units!

I'd still use Butcher as the Port comparison, not Westhoff. Doesn't your descriptor scream that?
The difference is Butcher has occasionally fired, has occasionally earnt his spot, and has been dropped when he hasn't.

Footy Classified tomorrow night

… I'd be disappointed if I were a Port Power supporter…

Surely Roos will cop the full brunt on FC right?
Yep all the tough questions.

"Were you a bit disappointed with yesterday's game Roosy?"

"Roosy mate would you describe yourself as a Dees man now?" *sound of fapping*

"Paul, I can call you Paul, right Pauly? Pauly, just wondering, would you like a unit to chew on? I have plenty of spares, its no problem mate"

Last 2 months he's been a top 5 player for Melbourne.

If you can't see he's a 196cm phenomenonal athlete with tremendous foot skills, then I'm not sure who you'd be watching.

His positives are obvious, it's whether he can continue to build his presence, consistency and aggression like he has over this year. He's still basically Butcher's age.

nah he plays more westhoff, has quite a bit of finesse and lack's butcher's "**** it ill give it a go" attitude

Yep, that's all I'm saying. We did drop some 'easy' games, but then we also had the most brutal of fixtures overall.

Under the whole 6-6-6 logic surely North should've been afforded the same?

We really can't complain too much. At least we didn't have to play Carlton and Brisbane twice. And we did get the double with Hawthorn

LOL at this thing going around that Fyfe didn't make head high contact. He did with his elbow before hitting the neck/shoulder with his body.
