how only h + a counts is a bit funny. ild rate a fantastic mark in a pivotal game >>>>>>>>>>>> over a fantastic mark in a nothing game where there was no heat on.

I prefer this one, last six minutes from the fox telecast with the post match dejected crows, our boys celebrating, interviews with Chad and Kern and then the song.

Ling: Can you believe you won?
Wingard: When we play Port Adelaide football, that's what happens.

Hnnnnnnnggggg

When Primus was coach, did he orchestrate all of the moves on his own? The refusal to play Kane being one example. Looking back at that decision, I think it was kinda stupid, even I thought at the time it was a good idea, but now I think its more important to win games, than to simply throw a bunch of kids on the park, like Melbourne.

I don't want to sound like a sore loser, but, Geelong, Hawthorn, Sydney and Collingwood, GTFO out of the top 4 pls. Someone else's turn.
is there a side there that hasn't benefited massively from advantages we dont have?

geelong (better f/s rules then we have. home ground advantage play 16-18 home games a year)

hawks (priority picks , home ground advantage)

sydney (extra salary cap , now swans academy)

collingwood (priority picks , better f/s rules , home and away advantage , best draw every year for building fan base = more capital = better football department spend)

soon they will all drop out of the top 4 and spend some time wallowing around the bottom while there is some huge noise made about what should be done to help them then they will rise again on the back of those advantages we dont have. meanwhile port will fight tooth and nail for every inch of ground we gain.

A) better to fight tooth and nail than to give up
B) We need to keep doing what we are doing and continue to be smart making ourselves more significant. It's smart to do this outside of SA too where we are competing against the team for all South Aussie's.

wow this cost of living thing is getting to be a joke now isnt it. never seen a premiership team recruit the two highest paid off-season recruits before.

i understand the premise of it costing more to live in sydney but that wouldnt apply to people earning hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. the average home might cost more in sydney but a guy earning $1.4 million a season can buy a heck of a house anywhere in oz , i dont think they are limited by their location in sydney.

the cost of living (9.8% on top of contracts) should only apply to rookies , and maybe the bottom of the list. shouldnt be a way to offer buddy franklin 9.8% more than any other team can offer

Imagine if Betts now ends up at GWS as they have coin to throw around as Buddy is no longer going to be there.

The meltdown on the Crows board will be epic.

Mountain out of a mole-hill IMO. Tippett always wanted out of the Culture-less Crows and who knows what he is really earning: if it is the ~$800k mark or not... just because the Crows offered him that out of desperation doesn't mean Sydney offered the same. Aside from Tippett and Buddy, who have the Swans really lured away? Lockett, Hall and Everitt had all run their race at the Saints. I can't think of too many other high profile players they've lured with COLA monies. Then they lost Jolly to Collingwood... go figure.

EDIT: furthermore... Swans don't have that many stars on their team, but rather a bunch of honest hard workers.

I suppose Buddy is leaving Hawthorn because it's culture-less too?

I have to have a rant here.....

Its utter bullshit that sydney can afford a contract for tippet and the buddy directly the year after...

If the afl cannot see what this is doing to the integrety of the game they are going to kill it....

Might as well set it up like the epl and have the darling teams dominate and the minnows fight for survival....

I could understand gws getting him....but when they can't match an offer made by an established and successful club in sydney something is seriously ****ed up...

Afl you are making a mockery of this fairness persona you so proudly brag about...its bull****

Thats just not true kaysee. Hall became a premiership captain and Lockett kicked a shit load of goals and with Paul Kelly almost single handedly got the swans to the 96 GF.

As for a bunch of honest hard workers I wish Logan and Thomas were as honest and hard working as Jack and Hannebery....

EDIT: Lockett 462 goals in 98 games at 4.71 is hardly a player who had "run his race".

Can't agree with that comment mate, how about these blokes?

McVeigh, Hannebery, O'Keefe, Mitchell, Tippett, Malceski, Kennedy, Kieren Jack, Goodes & Mumford?

By "run their race" I meant with the Saints, as in IIRC they weren't that upset about them leaving due to their temperament history. Not that their respective careers were over.

In fairness, didn't GWS offer him more money 12 mil over 6?
