wow this cost of living thing is getting to be a joke now isnt it. never seen a premiership team recruit the two highest paid off-season recruits before.
i understand the premise of it costing more to live in sydney but that wouldnt apply to people earning hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. the average home might cost more in sydney but a guy earning $1.4 million a season can buy a heck of a house anywhere in oz , i dont think they are limited by their location in sydney.
the cost of living (9.8% on top of contracts) should only apply to rookies , and maybe the bottom of the list. shouldnt be a way to offer buddy franklin 9.8% more than any other team can offer

That being said, COLA is outside the salary cap anyway, so he's getting the same bonus as everyone else in the team, which is fair.
