we don't have an AFL aligned system either. we have the SANFL.
i dont mean AFL as in the organisation more as the sport.. most of their juniors play NRL so theyre trying to encourage potential elite afl players in those regions with academies

dont confuse this as me agreeing with them either, i read this somewhere

lol sydney taking the piss.

just signed loyld ferris who is rated around a 2nd round pick as a rookie via their academy which is meant to work with f/s bidding. except when the player agrees to sign as a rookie it appears they can just sign them up and skip that part.

Eddie Betts' comments to Carlton fans.

Words from new Adelaide forward Eddie Betts:

"No matter what happens, deep down inside I will always be a Blue boy," Betts said.

"I want to say thank you to the Carlton Football Club for giving me the chance to play footy. I was overlooked in the national draft and they gave me the opportunity.

"Over the years the club has done a lot for me and my career, especially Shane O'Sullivan who has been like a father to me. Whenever I was down and out, Shane sent me in the right direction.

"My heart goes out to all the Carlton fans – I love them. When I'm having a bad game it's the fans who get me through. When they shout out my name it gets me going again.

"I am grateful and thankful to have had a fan base like that. I want the Carlton Cheer Squad in particular to know that they will always be in my heart.

"It's been a tough decision and I am sad to be going."

Ummm.....I'd be shattered if Port has just picked up a player via FA and that's the statement they made. He couldn't sound any less excited.
I'm sorry I left. I only did it for the money. Please love me.

“It’s a massive thing for me to come over to SA and into a group that’s played in two finals this year.

“I know Ken runs a pretty tight ship and I’m really excited about the challenge of trying to slot into the 22 each week and hopefully be playing finals come the end of next year.

“Ken and Alan Richardson have outlined some key roles for me to play throughout the year, but I’m just looking forward to getting out there and playing on some quality opponents, as well as hopefully winning a lot of games.”

Yeah I prefer Matt White's version of coming to his new club :thumbsu:
