I'm actually becoming a bit worried about Adelaide leaving us behind in their wake with their marketing strategies.
Not only have we had to deal with a banner on the Intercontinental, and a massive 61'st man being paraded around Adelaide Crowval prior to the Sydney game as part of a match day experience that made our efforts the week before look pedestrian, but this morning I opened the paper to hear that Adelaide is leading the charge on Good Friday night football:
“It is inevitable football will be played on Good Friday,” Chapman told The Advertiser.
“And we’re keen to be in that discussion with the AFL. It needs to be on our agenda.”
.....
“We want to be on the front foot (with Good Friday),” Chapman said. “And there is a bit of work to be done on this one.”
As KG used to say ... strike me pink, they have got one over us again. (If you ignore the fact club shave been chasing Good Friday football for a decade).
No wonder Triggy, Nigel-Notso, and uncle Rob are so highly revered by their brethren and supporters.
no doubt the hierarchy would cap it off with a satirical parody pre game on the big screen of Jesus Christ Superstar featuring Graham Cornes as Jesus, Stephen Rowe as Mary Magdalene and Patrick Dangerfields cat as the donkey.
Just to clarify - these quotes were taken from todays paper, I double checked the date and it didn't say April 2011
