There can be only one...

"Not being disrespectful to Kane Cornes because he’s a fine player but he does have a reputation in the competition for falling over more often than a one-legged drunk in a hurricane and he doesn’t take a lot of force for him to go to ground and he did that on Saturday night. It is something he really needs to take out of his game.”

How is that not being disrespectful? He's saying Cornes is a stager. Goddard gave Cornes one to go on with behind the play and it was hard enough for Cornes to go down. However, I think Cornes would have preferred if we'd been paid a free kick that led to a goal.
Geez, I'd hate to see him being disrespectful.

Exactly
on Footy Classified Gary Lyon often resorts to retorts to Hutchie
"yeah but Hutchie YOU haven't played the game"
and Hutchie should say
"Gary do you have to have walked on the Moon to know its there?"
You don't need to cook like Gordon Ramsey to know when you've been served a shit sandwich.

Rucci is running with the "Trigg to carlton/brisbane" line this morning. Interesting that he has Mark Haysman at the top of the possible successor lists...
He's a bit late with that one.. Tredders was onto Trigg leaving a month ago & Caro's been saying Carlton/Brisbane for the last 2 weeks. C'mon Rucci lift ya game.

Yeah it was more the Haysman link that I hadn't heard before. Would be more than ironic if he should end up in the chair after taking the hit for blowing the whistle on SANFL greed and incompetence in the first place.

I wonder how Tim Watson would respond to this, "Not being disrespectful Tim, but should your son not return his Brownlow medal, given the current circumstances?" :)
In light of the penalty Kane received last year and the apparent (greater) force used by Goddard, Tim would have been better served dealing with his frustration by commenting on the MRP's approach to dealing with relatively innocuous incidents such as this.

In his media role he has the opportunity to raise awareness of the inconsistency of the MRP by comparing these events with those incidents involving Goodes and the like where the MRP randomly dictates that "the force was not considered sufficient to lay a charge".

Tim in this case has unfairly played the man. IMHO there was enough force in the Goddard incident to force Kane to ground, so "playing the man" and raising diving displayed very little class. Every player on the football field these days tries to take advantage of contact that might draw a free, or a 50 or whatever.

As an Essendon stalwart, father of a current player, he's hardly objective.

It's hard to manufacture disrespect - I'm not a natural like Watson......
I had a crack, but to put a champion in Kane Cornes, in the spotlight like Watson did, he has lost any respect i ever had for him. What a low blow to get your voice/face in the media because you're losing ground.

I almost hate Essenscum as much as i hate the cows. Us against them has a new meaning for me lately. People that say they have a second team make me feel sick :straining:

How are the umpires officiating tomorrow nights game? Mcinerny, Chamberlain & Nicholls... Good luck Crowbots you'll need it against the 3 biggest maggot campaigners in the league.
More money out of Stupid's pocket when they lose thanks to a contentious free kick.
