Yes it was because of her gender and nothing else at all. It was all going so well. It was the rush due to comments like Caro's to push a woman in there that she failed because she wasn't yet ready, proven by her inability to handle the job. Now her career at the AFL is up the creek and she's unfairly gonna have to deal with this for a while when looking elsewhere.
**** her. I hope she never finds work again.

Tassie may not get their licence, and I for one are not overly sad by this as the talent pool isn’t really there for a 19th team.
Real figures likely to be 1.2 billion rather than the optimistic estimate they are currently looking at basically means the roof can not and will not happen if the Tasmanian tax payers are paying for it. They simply do not have the money.

No roof I’d say this is falling over.

****ing hell THEY ALREADY PLAY AFL IN TASMANIA.
The stadiums have been fine for nearly 20 years to benefit Hawthorn.

God I hate the AFL.

No confidence within The Devils

They can blame the AFL. Tas is wallowing in debt, cutting jobs and the AFL demands they spend at least $700M on a new stadium.

No confidence motions against premiers are not lightly taken.

Maybe if the AFL bosses could stop wallowing in the trough for a few minutes, they would realise that real people have real concerns other than their bread and circuses show.

The AFL rode the goodwill train on this and milked the crap out of it.

AFL needs to accept the fact that bringing the Tasmanian government to its knees financially is not in the interests of anyone, including the AFL.

Tasmania deserves a team and the AFL wants them in the AFL but it needs to understand that it doesn't want to be seen bankrupting a state to do it because of their 'conditions'. Start working with the new government in Tasmania and the Federal Government to find a viable long term solution.

It’s worth noting that Tasmanian Labor still supports a new Hobart Stadium…but that might change.

Expect Dillon to take the lead here :laughv1:. And Brendon Gale should maybe be a bit more diplomatic in his public statements or keep quite until this political maelstrom all settles down.

Saw some Federal polling yesterday that showed support for Labor in Tasmania at 70%, up 7% since the election. You would think state issues would be playing into that.

If we get Dougie, Zemes, Rodan, and Salopek for not much this might be incorrect.

I actually think that if all our NGA and father sons come off we are better of with Tassie coming in.

If all the other clubs get bugger all while we reap some of our best ever talents we have a chance to get a big advantage.

How many games have been played in Tassie in the last many seasons?

Why out of a sudden must we believe that the state needs a BILLION-DOLLAR DOME to host an AFL club of its own?

This doesn’t make any sense. It’s all BS, and I doubt that anyone involved is oblivious of that. They are all playing along for whatever reason.

The state is for old age pensioners, jobs have always been minimal there.
There’s no way they can afford it, if the AFL don’t put up the cash it’s no stadium.
As you said make do with what they already have, it’s not like you’re going to get 50,000 plus crowds anyway.

This made me check if the Wrest Point Casino revolving restaurant was still a thing, and it is! I remember that being a big deal in the 1970s.

is Tassie ready for another new thing?
