My level of interest is now greater than zero.
Simply put, it’s “Butters better not get injury or suspended”

Since Hawthorn won their first VFL flag in 1961 the biggest gaps between their flags have been;
17 years 1991-2008
11 years+ 2015-2026+
10 years 1961-1971
Shorter gaps have been
5 years x 3 1971-76, 1978-83, 2008-13
3 years x 1 1983-86
2 years x 3 1976-78, 1986-88, 1989-91
back to back 3 times, 1988-89, 2013-14. 2014-15
Sheedy has said a few times, it was easier to win a VFL premiership than an AFL premiership. He has 2 of each.Really makes you think.
If there is an Injury i expect supplementary spots and or compensation of some kind.

or better still the next 15 yearsPlease say it’s true. They need to be stuck with Hinkley 2.0 for at least another 5 years.
We didn't even get a supplementary spot or compensation when another club injected one of our players with banned drugs without our knowledge.
Finishing top of the ladder two years in a row in the early 2000’s and not making a GF was shocking.Further to my Hawthorn premiership time line - the last 35 years shows that when you are in the premiership window, do every thing you can to win multiple premierships, because the next window doesn't come up that quickly.
1990 Collingwood ======> 2010 ======> 2023
1991 Hawthorn =======> 2008 =====> 2013-14-15 the 2 expansion teams hogged the talent challengers would get
1992-94 WCE. ========> 2006 ======> 2018
1993 Essendon. =======> 2000 ======> still waiting, lost GF 2001
1995 Carlton =========> still waiting, lost GF 1999
1996-99 North ========> still waiting
1997-98 Adelaide ======> still waiting, lost GF 2017
2001-02-03 Brisbane ===> 2024-25
2004 Port ===========> still waiting, lost GF 2007
2005 Sydney ========> 2012 ======> still waiting, lost GFs in 2014-16-22-24
2007-09-11 Geelong. ===> 2022
2016 Bulldogs =========> still waiting, lost GF 2021
2017-19-20 Richmond
2021 Melbourne
Made GFs in that time
1997 St Kilda + 2009-10
2013 Fremantle
2019 GWS
Waiting more than 20 years since their last flag:
Carlton 30, Adelaide 27, North 26, Essendon 25, Port 21
Years waited between first period of dominance ending with a flag and then their next flag:
Brisbane 21, Collingwood 20, West Coast 12, Geelong 11, Sydney 7, Essendon 7, Hawthorn 5
The Hawks were kissed on the dick. In 2008 a 23-1 Geelong choked and lost the GF to a young Hawks who were a few years away from their prime, and then the expansion teams sucking up so many first round picks, inc U/17 signings meant when Hawthorn were dominate, serious challengers couldn't get access to champion kids to help knock the Hawks out.
We stuffed up not winning a couple of flags in 2001-05 years, and not winning 1 in the 2020-24 years. I fear we could be waiting until the 2030's to win one again. I hope I'm wrong, and Josh corrects things quickly, but history is against him.
