If there was ever a game or side that makes us play the best we can, it's Hawthorn. Some sides just match up really well against each other.

1st midfield group - Wines, Boak, Gray

2nd midfield group - Hartlett, Young, Wingard

Mitchell on Hodge because Kane is annoying and will get under his skin while running off him easily. Ebert on Smith - no good running if you can't get the ball. Young/Boak when they rotate up forward on Sam Mitchell.

Don't waste energy on bash and crash. Prove we're tougher by dominating the play. Keep hitting them with tackles and relentless pressure. Fear? That's the other guys problem.

Consistency of performance is all we need. We bring the same heat we did against the Bulldogs and Richmond, coupled with a bit cleaner ball use, we win.

We don't - we'll get smashed like a bottom four side. Giblets will be strewn all over Adelaide Oval.

Our Chinese benefactor Mr Gui will be attending this game. Let's give him another memorable experience.

PS I'm sure some will whine about the title. It's just a bit of fun, don't get your panties in a bunch about it :P

My predictions:
-Hodge to receive most boos
-Hodge or Mitchell giving a few elbows
-Dixon to rip one of their heads off
-Boak to have a better game than last week
-Wingard to kick 4

I don't have any idea what the title is supposed to mean so maybe I'm too out of the loop.

Meanwhile, I'm pretty excited for tonight. Should be a good game on a nice night with a great atmosphere. Hopefully we get 45+ but thinking based on our form and recent attendances on a Thursday might we may struggle (unless it is school holidays? I'm not aware?)

At our best we can obviously beat the Hawks, we know it, they know it and that sort of confidence could help. However I just don't feel like tonight is the night. I hope I'm wrong, but I still look at Clurey and Austin down back and see Austin in particular as a very weak link. We've then got Amon and Mitchell through the midfield, players that may be doing a job but against the class of the top side are going to struggle.

Ah well hopefully I'm wrong and we FINALLY win that close one we desperately need. However I'm tipping the Hawks by 13. Port to go 0-5 in games decided by under 3 goals, with our season finally officially over.

Me too... it looks a bit dyslexic;)

Hawks have a couple of inexperienced forwards; I think our defence will do ok. As long as Kane doesn't have to kick over 20m , he may do ok.

And IDKFA for all guns! Just like we're gonna have roll onto the AO tonight!
Just hope we don't get sucked in too much into the comments earlier this week, play the ball and go hard, because we know how much hawthorn seem to get the rub of the green. Don't give them any excuses.

I'm expecting this to be close. We have to win a close one. It's about making sure those close game demons are arrested in time for the 2017 season.

Or IDSPISPOPD so we can run straight through them. :D

So they've got Rioli, Sicily, PooPooLoo, Gunston, Bruest, O'brien, Hartung (rotates fwd) and McEvoy for us to worry about. I can see our defence being stretched. Broadbent, O'shea and Hartlett are going to have to be well and truly on their intercept/third man up game.

With Poo and Rioli, I really wish we had two DBJs. Pittard will take one, DBJ the other. I reckon Austin will take Gunston and Clurey will take one of Bruest or Sicily. At that point, we sort of run out of defenders. Assuming Clurey takes Bruest, that leaves O'shea with Sicily, which I really don't like. O'shea should not be given a direct opponent. Furthermore, we will not have a match up for the resting tall if they decide to stack it with McEvoy/O'brien/Gunston/Bruest/Siciliy and move Poo and Rioli up the ground.

We are going to have to rely very strongly on team defence. Hartlett, Broadbent and O'shea are goin to have to be at the top of their third-man-up game.

I'm feeling about as sick as Essendon's premiership chances, so I can't get there tonight. But I still want my ticket used - please PM me if you want a free ticket to tonight's game.

The wetness under foot should help even us up a bit considering how poor our skills are and how good theirs are. If we can get on top on the midfield again and actually be efficient up forward we can win this. I'm expecting Jacko to keep improving and regardless of what the umpire bosses have to say, there will be another ruckus.

So excited for this one! Will be leaving work and walking to the game. God I love Thursday and Friday night games. God I love the stadium being in the middle of the city!
