Yes and if Port Adelaide were to have a horror previous year and just knock off the 2004 Premiers (However, not of full strength) you wouldn't be a little bit excited about the prospect?

We had some keys out too, so it's nice to notch up a victory, even though it was only a pre season game, but it was against Port Adelaide. Any game of football is worth excitment.

It's always good to win, I know that. Being excited about winning is one thing, but thinking it's a big positive is another, considering it was a practice match.
Like I said though, well done.

No stats.. don't think the full list of stats will be released.
I'll let u guys know if I find anything.

PAFC2004, we can play it down for the wet conditions, against a team who are six weeeks behind in their preparation to us, or;

WE CAN GO BALLISTIC AND SAY THIS IS THE GREATEST DAY IN FOOTBALL AND THAT WE'RE NOW FIRM FLAG FAVOURITES!!

I think most of us are simply pleased that we actually kicked the ball through the goals this week.

Carrots kicking a few, after presumably spending a fair whack of time on the bench is good news. Glad we fixed his injury up, hopefully for good, rather than attempt Brisvegas' Band-Aid solution to injury management.

good to have a win today, especially against last years premiers, especially considering how woeful our pre-season was last year and any win that might build some momentum is great

but it was only a praccy match so im getting to excited or over-whelmed by it

see O'bree and willimams got in the best......pushed themselves into starting midfield spots for round 1 (doh!).....good start for Blake also with a few majors

sorry if its been stated already but i couldnt be bothered trolling through this thread on my slow net connection LoL, but did Cam Cloke and Lockyer play? and if so, how did they go?

Yes, it was only a practice match, but these are the games that can set you up for the season if things are done properly.
By the sounds of it (reading the various reports), both Port and Collingwood are going along just fine atm.
Good luck for next season. Few less injury problems and you should be back up there.

Yes.

Would be interesting to know how we screwed up our lead.

Port kicked with a reasonably strong wind in the last quarter. They levelled the score at the 8 minute mark and I really thought they'd go on with it. Credit to our boys though, they got control back and against the wind managed to get back out to a 16 point lead, before eventually winning by 9.

Conditions were tricky. The surface itself was in excellent nick, just got a bit greasy with the showers. Of course, the wind didn't help either.

Positives for me firstly were to see Tarrant, Lockyer, C2,C1 and Johnno get a run, all of whom I thought were injured.

Nick Maxwell was very good in the backline. Just doesn't look like a kid with 5 minutes experience. Dane Swan was OK. Rhyce was generally good, so was Lockyer and Johnno. Most of the senior guys were reasonable. We were definately the better side all day, although its hard to say what would've happened if each side played all their players for full games.

Was hoping to see Egan again, but he played for Willi. Apparently he kicked 3 or 4 in the last quarter from FF and was pretty impressive.
