Police are investigating whether an AFL player linked with Port Adelaide was involved in a hit-run crash on Saturday night.

A Commodore was seen crossing onto the wrong side of the road and crashing into a parked ute, pushing the ute into a Toyota sedan.

The vehicle then continued driving, smashing into a parked Audi sedan and pushing it into a BMW.

The male driver, reported to be a young Port Adelaide player, is described as having tanned skin, about 180 centimetres tall with short, dark hair.

Jarman Impey, 21, is said to have crashed into at least four parked cars on George Street, Norwood, just after 7pm on Saturday.

He is understood to have attended a party at the home of team mate Angus Monfries, 29, who lives nearby.

Neighbours reported seeing a distressed Monfries at the accident scene after his Audi was one of the cars that was crashed into.

Monfries declined to speak about the accident on Sunday morning, telling reporters "get off the land".

Impeys mum died a few weeks ago, no excuse but it probably explains why he's off the rails a bit. Our indigenous programs have always been pretty good, he's gonna need all the help he can get through this.

Don't have an issue going on the piss if he needs to deal with the grief (it's not what I did when my father died unexpectedly but each to their own) but to get behind the wheel of the car and drive - irresponsible and inexcusable. He could have killed someone!

Where was the leadership group at this piss-up? Where was someone telling him not to drive?

It was actually his father, who has been fighting cancer for the past three years who died. No excuse though.

No excuse, but I'll mention it anyway.
