Interesting to hear the Port Melb despot (President) rip into North during the half time break on ABC. His "holier than thou" attitude was full of arrogance as he blamed the Kangas coaching staff for the split between the two clubs.

What an absolute Richard the Third!

There's more culture in a penicillin factory than at Teac Oval. Sooner our players are away from this club the better.

If not for us being in the finals, I'd love for us to take our players out of their team and tell em to get stuffed  Their president seriously needs to remove his head from his orifice and face reality...while they might be competitive as a stand-alone club, if Port really want to have a decent shot at a flag, they'll need to do it in partnership with an AFL team - that's the way the competition is.

As for the VFL situation next year, I just hope we can settle this thing satisfactorily...we seem to be stuck between a rock (no other club wants to align) and a hard place (forking out extra cash to go at it alone again) :(

What is the care factor? A VFL president whining on ABC. Stop the press!

Nobody cares. Of course the split happened because our coaching staff couldn't get along with theirs. Duh, there wouldn't have been a split if they could.

Port can be as competitive without us. You can pick up players at the end of their AFL career that are as good as kids starting their career. We just do not need to limit our development by being associated with a club that cares for nothing other than winning.

We need to play guys out of their natural position to develop them in other areas, we need to push players in a higher level of play even if their form doesn't warrant it. We need to have more input and more control in how our players are being developed. We just do not have that kind of relationship with Port.

I do not think Port would get a long well with any other club that is looking to develop a lot of younger players. Port would have been more suited with us under Pagan where the vast majority of our list was senior-grade players, most who were not getting games mainly due to a dominant senior side.
