During the game yesterday a Port supporter wearing a port guernsey, sitting in the members was ejected from the ground for some reason to the cheers of the surrounding Crows supporters.

Now I saw this from the top part of the members so I don't know why he was ejected.

I was wondering if anyone here knew?

(It was pretty funny at the time)

I don't know why but I was in the members ... I heard the cheers.

Guessing he went there expecting the Crows to got flogged and couldn't handle the truth (on that basis hopefully 10,000 Port fans will be ejected next week) ... then realised he had to catch a bus pronto to get to Elizabeth Oval in time to watch the Magpies?!

Which is why the Magpies are still #1 in memberships and are always in the top 2 for attendances?

I think its sad when Crows/Port 'supporters' go to the opposite match and barrack for the opposition. If you guys think it doesnt happen the other way round then you are quite deluded. These people probably dont even bother going to their own clubs games.

There was one guy back in the 90s, who used to go to every Magpies and Power game and barrack for the opposition. Every week for about 4 years. No idea who he actually went for...if anyone. He had his own outfit for each of the different SANFL and AFL clubs that he'd wear as well.

Some people simply have an inferiority complex and overall just negative people. You say black and they will always without fail say white.

Sounds like Outback Jack.

Lighten up Macca it was a joke throw away line! Although show me those stats then :p

I honestly don't see the point in going to a game where your team isn't playing, I have been to two Port home games in the AFL one was a Showdown so of course I went for the opposition and second my mate had a spare season ticket for a Carlton game years ago and said he would by me beers if I kept him company so I went for the free beer! :thumbsu:

If you lived in Canberra you'd see the point. We only get 4 AFL games per year, one of which is the MMCup and another MMChallenge. Only 2 H&A games for the year, none of these feature the Crows. Beggars can't be choosers, so I go along even if the Crows aren't playing.

The SANFL in particular does get a few neutrals attend, there's nothing wrong with heading to a game of footy if your team isn't playing. When the SANFL has 4 games on at different times on a weekend there's even a few people who get to every game!

I have seen Port Power fans in the bars at Crow games cheering on the opposition and just generally starting shit, like everytime a player like Roo got the ball they would abuse the **** out of them. That didn't exactly go down well and just ended in a massive knuckle, and deservedly so.

I've been to quite a few Port games and have enjoyed them a lot. It's a very different feeling when you're not as focussed on the scoreboard and can just appreciate the game for the spectacle it is, watch match-ups, listen to how a Port crowd reacts compared to a Crows one etc.

Good call
I always try to sit back and watch the game objectivley but it always ends up with me barracking against port. Starts out with me clapping there goals and not ports and by the end of it i end up getting all frustrated with the umpires and everything, as i do with my beloved crows.

I go to every game at Footy Park. I love watching live AFL footy.

Whilst I try not to "Barrack" for Ports opposing team I do have a happy glow if they lose. If they win I am not fussed.

The one time I got too excited was against Brisbane in 2006. THey are my "second" team and I did cheer a few goals through.

Sorry to bump but I hadn't seen this thread earlier, my cousin was actually the one who dobbed this bloke into security. Him and his young boy were abusing the hell out the Crows players all night and when Tippett went down the bloke yelled out something like I hope you've done a Hentschel and when the bloke behind him asked him to calm down the Port guy did a slicing the throat gesture and said you'll go down just like your effing team.
