Lets all face it, no one cares about the magpies, attendances say that. The only time we do, is to check which players have played well enough to get into the afl side.

Port cant live with out the diehards and the blow ins. We need both, and this push for pb all the time is dumb and will divide the club. Having these one off pb in afl are perfect. Any more ruins it

Its like saying port adelaide is the most successful club in australia with 34 premierships. Its not, the most sucessful in sanfl. The afl started in 1990, and there is what counts. We have one premiership, better than alot of other clubs
You talk some absolute garbage you know that.

Read that again and think real hard, maybe you'll be able to figure out why most people think you're a troll.....

No one is a troll. At the end of day i want three things every year, for us to beat melbourne, its my mates team, the crows, and play finals, and hopefully win a flag
You really are a s**t troll, get creative ffs.

What’s more annoying however are those who respond to you about footy.

By the way, it is fine for someone to support PAFC in the AFL, but another club in the SANFL. It is two separate leagues. The only time this would be an issue is when both clubs play against each other in the SANFL. The person can even accept Port's SANFL history and even be proud of it.

Such an arrangement is quite common in Brazil. Many people support their local team and one of the big teams simultaneously — even when they are from the same state, and play against each other during the state-league season.

It is also fine for someone to follow PAFC in the AFL, but not in the SANFL. This doesn't mean the person doesn't care about our history. He can be proud of it, feel as part of it, and believe it is absolutely relevant for Port. It would not be something against the Magpies or the PB guernsey. He could simply not to care about how our reserves are doing.

Those people are ok. The danger comes from those who want to deny our past, as if "a new club was born" in 1997. It wasn't, and PAFC has the right... No. Scrap that! Port has a DUTY to celebrate our History, that which makes us unique, which makes us who we are, as the club sees fit.

Another danger is trying to deny the Power. It is also part of our History, too. We must treat it accordingly.
A question for you GP, to help out us simple Aussie Rules fans who don't go thru this mixed supporting phase like a lot of fans in Brazil.

In the Rio Grande do Sul state league ie Campeonato Gaucho, how many of these sides also have a side in the different national competitions?? ie

Campeonato Brasileiro Série A = I know Gremio and Internacional have a team in here and the Gaucho league
Campeonato Brasileiro Série B
Campeonato Brasileiro Série C
Campeonato Brasileiro Série D

Am I right in saying this is repeated in the other big states like Rio de Janiero and Sao Paulo??

I love it when the Brazilian guy makes a fool out of the blow ins with his appreciation and knowledge about our history.

It makes such a mockery of the "what if they didn't grow up with the bars" angle.

Please stop feeding the blow-ins.

If you followed another SANFL club and understand the fact that the majority of Port supporters want the PB's that's fine, if you are still offended about old SANFL losses and hate the PB's then please go somewhere else.
The majority lol, you realise you are the vocal minority. Show me where at least 25,000 members said they wanted the prison bars....

How is it that a guy from Brazil who wouldn't have known what a footy was 5 years ago can figure this out but somehow some of our own homegrown lifelong supporters can't?

Opinion does not equal fact
And a petition does not equal a survey or a poll.

You are making as if the BBTB crew doorknocked every single Port Adelaide member and asked them to sign, and only 10,000 of them agreed.

It is remarkable to have gotten over 10,000 signatures considering the origins of the petition from the very niche hardcore of Bigfooty. It shows what widespread support there is for bringing back the bars. In comparison, the return the wings petition got like 300 signatures, enough for WCE to act.

The only way you can really refute the petition is to start your own "no teal, no deal" (so catchy) petition and attain equal or higher numbers. I suggest you start that within your own niche group of teal zealots (tealots?) though, as I don't think you'd get it off the ground here.

If it's okay to count all the Vic clubs achievements since their begings in the VFL, the same criteria should be used for Port Adelaide.

Why would any port supporter not want to see the club wear the guernsey it has worn for over 100 years and won 90% of their premierships in..the guernsey the screams port adelaide like no other.. It's not about magpies, or power, it's about port adelaide...

The Campeonato Brasileiro Série D, our fourth division, is more like a qualifying cup rather than a league. Here, all the top-60 clubs in 2019, divided by state (18 out of 27):

Campeonato Brasileiro Série A
São Paulo (SP) - Corinthians, Palmeiras, Santos, São Paulo; Rio de Janeiro (RJ) - Botafogo, Flamengo, Fluminense, Vasco; Rio Grande do Sul (RS) - Gremio, Internacional; Minas Gerais (MG) - Cruzeiro, Atlético; Bahia (BA) - Bahia; [Those are the "Club of 13" - the historically biggest Brazilian clubs] Ceará (CE) - Ceará, Fortaleza; Santa Catarina (SC) - Avaí, Chapecoense; Paraná (PR) - Athletico; Goiás (GO) - Goiás; Alagoas (AL) - CSA.

Campeonato Brasileiro Série B
SP - Botafogo, Bragantino, Guarani, Oeste, Ponte Preta, São Bento; PR - Coritiba, Londrina, Operário, Paraná; SC - Criciúma, Figueirense; GO - Atlético, Vila Nova; RS - Brasil; MG - América; BA - Vitória; AL - CRB; Pernambuco (PE) - Sport; Mato Grosso (MT) - Cuiabá.

Campeonato Brasileiro Série C
RS - Juventude, São José, Ypiranga; MG - Boa, Tombense; PE - Náutico, Santa Cruz; RJ - Volta Redonda; CE - Ferroviário; MT - Luverdense; Maranhão (MA) - Imperatriz, Sampaio Correa; Pará (PA) - Paysandu, Remo; Parahyba (PB) - Botafogo, Treze; Rio Grande do Norte (RN) - ABC, Globo; Acre (AC) - Atlético; Sergipe (SE) - Confiança.

The clubs promoted from the '19-D to the '20-C are already known:
Brusque (SC); Ituano (SP); Jacuipense (BA); and Manaus (Amazonas, AM)

We should fight for our 2nd amendment

"To right to wear bars"
Right on let's make Port great again.
This is a great first step, well done to the Bring Back The Bars committee and all involved.

It has the potential to crank up momentum to another gear, so long as no long term agreements are made with the AFL to prohibit wearing the guernsey post-2020.

This is Step 1 and there will be many more to come. This campaign is over when and only when we truly have the right to wear the Prison Bars whenever we want.
I suspect you might be waiting for a while. How many life times do you have?

We have been here before. Eddiewood have given us permission before but only on a limited basis. This is not a win it is simply a PR exercise by the AFL. Had the AFL denied us the chance to wear black and white in our 150th year they would have looked bad hence the token gesture.

I would be interested in know what step 2 is? I cannot see that we can do much more than ask, unless of course the Chairman decides to go to court with the issue.

So how were we allowed to wear it for a final in 2014 and organise it at the 11th hour?
That is an excellent point Willsy. There was no need for any lengthy approval process on that occasion, the AFL simply appeared to make a decision within hours. There was no talk of 'binding legal agreements' or the need for approval from McGuire. I guess the answer is we are trying to deal with a bunch of unprincipled Victorian biased tossers.

Of course the fact that Port was denied the right to wear it's home strip in a home final reinforces the point that we are dealing with tossers. Fast forward three years and the AFL requires Richmond to wear it's away strip against the Crows at the MCG. And they wonder why we think the AFL are a bunch of tossers?
