Are there other teams?
No excuses- a somewhat depleted Collingwood against a Port side with a (now) moderate injury list.

We welcome back the holy trinity. They have at least 2 debutants. In fact, their team sheet reads like the role call at the witness protection program.

When I say no excuses, I mean no excuses for not crushing them. A dry deck. An impressive array of tall options at both ends of the ground. The holy trinity gives us some run and class. Wines is in beast mode and although I don’t know half their team (isn’t Ruscoe a big serving US tennis player from the 1980s?), the Wobbles have no one to stop him.

Motivation cannot be an issue. Today we play for Travis Boak- a legitimate club legend. We owe him big time for sticking with us even after Chris Scott, Joel Selwood and the Geelong Big Band secretly paraded down Rundle Mall looking to kidnap Travis. Not only did Travis stay, today he racks up 300 games and joins Kane Cornes as club AFL games record holder- only about 150 games to go to get the club games record.

If we cannot honour Travis with a win in style today, a Royal Commission should be called.

We are superior in all facets of the game except ruck and we are more than capable there too. Who would you rather have up forward? Mihocek or Dixon. On the wing? Amon or Daicos. In the guts? Wines or AdamS. Down back? Aliir or Roughead.

The result is vital but not enough. We are running out of time to find top gear. This is a perfect chance to beat up on a second class opposition. That won’t silence the critics that will trot out our record against the contenders, but we will know. We need to come out of this game with comments like:

”That’s more like it” and
”Did Travis proud” and not
”Did enough”.

Today, enough is not enough.

The push to a flag starts here.

Our Friday night big stage record is average last 5 years. But tonight with such a large portion of AFL football supporters in lockdown, it is a good time to show an exciting brand of football with 3 of excitement machines returning.

Congratulations Travis you champion

Triumvirate of Doom is back, Trav's 300th and we don't have the pressure of a home crowd (or indeed any crowd). Added to that our opponents have parked the bus for the season and are themselves injury-affected, it all adds up to the ultimate WHP experience.

But we've moved on from that. This year we win the games we're expected to, ugly or not. Our only real threat is everyone we platy over the next 3-4 weeks will play their GF against us, we have to be ready for that.

Port by 6 goals in a comfortable, yet not emphatic win. I'll be happy if the three blokes coming in all get through the game without further issue.

A lot has been discussed around our defensive set-up and getting the right balance of personnel.
Thing is, they've probably been put under a strain due to some of our first choice players being out around the ground.

We've replaced Frederick and Mayes who struggle to find the ball with two competitive beasts in Duursma and Butters and I think we'll see a massive difference.

Expecting us to lock the ball in and look more like the side that was top of the ladder all year.

We haven't lost in Victoria in nearly two years. That won't change tonight at our home that isn't our home.

We'll flat track it up then take the foot off the pedal in the last. Port by 20 after getting to a game high lead of 50.

Expect Collingwood to try slow the game down again. Last time it took us until Q4 to decide to start playing football rather than giving the opposition what they want and we were lucky to escape with the W. Let's see if anyone in the coaches box learnt from last time. We'll know in 5 minutes.

Look, we should still win, but expecting this is going a bit far :p
