Port v Sturt

Another strong victory to Port today. Sturt stayed with Port until the last quarter when i think Port kicked 10 goals to about 3. Port hada a number of strong player thru the day....Burgoyne, Mcdowall, Tony Brown was BOG again! Rhino was great, Holmes was good, David Green was second best on ground in his second game.
Sturt didnt have many options but did play alright until the last quarter.
Mcdowall ended with 4 for port, as did the Pony, Ricky O Loughlin.

I wo nder where Blueboy went??? He seemed to piss off pretty quickly when it seemed Sturt was to have a bad season

It doesn't matter that Sturt have set wooden spoon records since their heyday of the 60's and 70's, and look like being in decline once again after a brief recovery - it's always good to beat Sturt.

I guess their supporters can take that as an enduring mark of respect, if that helps...

Sigh.. and it begins again.

I think the final five is already set, seems a shame this early in.

Anyways....

I find that a lot of Port supporters I know get more delight out of beating Sturt than Norwood.

Yep. Norwood's wins over us in 1984 and 1997 were bloody painful, but what Sturt did to us in 66,67,68 and 76 (plus many other matches) will never be forgotten...
