If you didn't see Williams up forward you obviously didn't watch the game. He and DBJ were swapping at one stage cos neither of them could control their opponent. Williams did execute a nice kick to Darcy at one stage in the fwd half which DBJ fumbled.
One other player I was disappointed in was Farrell . He squibbed on a couple of occasions going into a contest.
A lot of the players were trying. Just simply outclassed . Watching Cats players running away from Drew and Wines tells you a lot .

Farrell is so overated. He's so soft & his supposed elite kicking is pretty ordinary. Trade

We've got injuries that are copping the blame but the more concerning thing for me is how many players that are taking the field each week that are out of form. Even with our injuries we should be performing much better than we are, i'm sick of the excuses, the last two weeks have been pure garbage and completely unacceptable.

I'm not too worried about next year, not yet anyway

What we are seeing is the product of a long chain of very poor decisions and accumulating into Hinkley's farewell tour.

We checked out after that Brisbane loss which was our last hurrah for 2025. The rest of the season from that point has been like knowing the iceberg has hit and you're just waiting on the deck for it all to end.

We have too many players that have been getting games that shouldn’t even be on a list.
When you can roll off easily at least 10 players that should be delisted
You know your list is crap.

Very disappointed in Sinn. He's just a very average player who cost us dearly. Another recruitment f*ck up.
Back end of the season has been shit. I think he had a decent period and showed signs at times. Not sure if his fadeout is due to it being his first full season. I've been keen on seeing him with an extended run at it and he's finally gotten it. Hopefully another full pre season and confidence he goes to another level next year and we see more from him going forward. Burgyone's drop off has been alarming. Again, how much of this all is down to this horrendous coaching situation.

Please let this game serve as the very last conversation/speculation on Dyl Williams being AFL level. Solid performer in the SANFL just doesn't have the speed for AFL.
I mean, we've seen 20-40 games pumped into some less than average players in the past 2-3 seasons. We have never seen more than a game and a half of Williams in his natural position as a forward. How would we ever know if he'd make it. You can't possibly block out that speculation, because it's just another situation where Hinkley has refused to play someone in their proper position.

Perfectly legal to shepherd or block anyone except a ruck or someone going for a mark within 5 metres.
Ok well I don't like that. I reckon to apply a shepherd a teammate should be in possession AND the ball within 5 metres. No wonder Mullins wasn't penalised despite often having his back to play and arms all over Zac. Can't do it in a marking contest but can in a loose ball contest = nonsense laws of the game.

I like it. Adds an element to the clearance battles, where you need that strong body/explosive type mix. Port still need another hardnut in the midfield.

There's a lot of NFL moves, body positions and footwork that can be used to maximise leverage, speed, angles etc to break free or tie up an opponent. I don't think many teams speak about this line of thought though.

Agree 100%, especially DBJ and Boak just scandalous they are still playing AFL football.
DBJ is such a Hinkley era player. Burst onto the scene, then gets a contract that's too long and has hung around when he should really have been moved on (as a player read traded). That he's 30 this year, is so Hinkley, he seems like he's been here forever, but hasn't progressed much at all.
