I see, they stand out.

I'm not claiming he's Darren Jarman either, and he made a 1-2 mistakes last week, but most of his disposal was either good or very good.
It’s when he feels under pressure to make something happen that he has issues. You won’t see it in a trial game.

Yeah, I saw a glimpse of that. My initial impression is that his brain is thinking quicker than his ability to execute, and it sometimes leads to errors

I don't get this. There's 6 Port players in the 2018 top 100 clanger list and Pittard isn't one of them. Ports average DE% in 2018 was 70.4%, Pittards was 71.6%.

The average player clanger count is about 1.6 a game and Pittards career average is 0.5.

The average player DE% is about 73% and Pittards career average is 76%

I can only assume that a small handful of bad howlers has put this idea in peoples minds.
I’d recommend learning how to read afl tables correctly. His career clanger average is 2.66.

His clearance average is 0.5

My enduring image of Jasper is of him being caught holding the ball, arising from an attack from behind.
That was not entirely his fault. It pointed in part to little support from team mates.
His contribution to those debacles was a lack of awareness. You got the impression that he was unaware he was playing a high tempo AFL game.

He's actually a very good player, a solid defender and will create many goals from half back with his attacking play, but yes occasionally he is either making very big errors, or he makes glaring ones where he takes the game on, but often the rest of the side isn't ready for it. In general though he is incredibly unfairly maligned amongst our supporters, and to be honest you guys got him for a ridiculously unfair bargain. He should've been worth far more in that trade, but we bent over for ya.

Jasper was always an underrated defender especially in the air. If he had focused on that instead of pressuring himself to be the outlet player his career could’ve went a lot smoother.

Yeah I always thought pittard was harshly judged. But for whatever reason his form did take a nosedive in 17 and 18, so he probably needed a change. That's the one trade from last year I still cant work out though, we basically let him go for nothing. All the melts have been about polec and wingard but at least we got compensated in those trades and they both requested to leave.

I was actually sad to see him go because he seemed like a good fella.

I have to say, while us port fans are absolutely right about Jasper, there is something pretty cool about seeing norf fans defending him already. Genuinely wish him all the best at Arden st
I'm sure most of us wish him the best, but it's hard to see him improving from here. This is no longer early career Jasper with barely 50 games to his name - it's nearly 28 year old Jasper who hasn't substantially improved and is still making the same silly errors. But, as I think Doctor Feel posted a while ago:

I hope Jasper continues on his football journey for as long as he can. He has always been a favorite and he stuck with us in the dark days.

But tbh Jasper without clangers is like a redhead without freckles. Don't change because of us Jasper.

Defensively Pittard grew into a fine player from 14-17. Good in the air, very good intercept mark, good positioning. He’s great at that.

When he gets the ball its where it breaks down. He either kicks it as hard as he can, usually to an outnumbered contest (which still counts as an effective disposal), or he takes off with zero iq about whats around him or what the situation is down field. Last year he was in the top 10 in the afl for turnovers leading to opposition scores, and he only played half the games.

Still, he’ll dominate today as a big FU to Port and the fans

It would have been nice if Pittard did come good with us but it wasn't meant to be and you hope he goes alright at North as long as he doesn't become a Chaplin or anything.
