Love seeing Rockliff back to his best, hopefully keeps it up.

Love him as much as everyone else, but when Dixon is back Marshall isn’t anywhere near being best 22.

Butters, Duursma and Rozee all look like they’ll be very good players.

NUFC, YES.
Equally, why should the team who has just won the ball/advantage have to wait for the defense to get all their players back while the big dumb lumbering ruckman takes his time to get back?

If the ‘protected zone’ is a rule, it has to apply to the time that the winner of the free runs the entire 50, as they shouldn’t lose advantage due to gamesmanship from the opponent. It’s up to the defenders to rotate.
Sure, but you shouldn’t be in a position to potentially outrun the umpire whose duty it is to set the mark.

Basically if you give away a 50, just stop. It’s for up the ground to worry about.

I’d tell the player who gave it away to just stop

Of the fringe players / recruits I would be playing round 1 Amon, Butters, Lycett of course.... think we will have to play at least one of Rozee / Burton / Duursma. Probably Burton for me.

It looks like that's what will have to happen. But then you're a man down ahead of play. A 50 and a man down...

No problem with the second 50m penalty.

If you look at the Clurey non-call, he didn't get pinged because he was running as fast as he could back to the mark, where as Westhoff hesitated, then started to jog before beginning to sprint once he saw the North player was trying to get in front of him, and in doing so denied him the opportunity of playing on at any time.

The player conceding just has to get on their bike if they give away a 50m penalty. It means that a 50 is more punitive but that's what it was originally before the players became that much fitter.

It will make the AFL look like amature hour on TV and cost someone a final. Over officiated rubbish.
