Well we won by 71 points but im far from happy. Im sick of us letting go of a big lead and letting the opposition getting a few cheap goals. I really want to thump teams, altho we did end up winning hte last quarter.

Few good things - Ackland played great in his first real full game. Burgoyne was good and Stevens was awesome.
We really do have a lot of options.

Its hard to really say how well we would of gone if West Coast didnt have 5 injured men, but oh well, that happens in footy.

6-1...good spot to be in

Macca, give ya boys a break, they didnt play well for 5 mins, and WC kicked 3 goals, wow!
then yous responded with 4 quick goals

Good performance Port, id expect you guys to pump the maggies next week

I thought Port played very well. Attractive footy, very nice to watch. Quality players throughout the side with a good structure and well disciplined.
I hope the injuries stay low and you make a GF this year.

I agree with you Macca. Port don't seem to finish games off. They should of won by at least 100 points. This could be a concern when we play quality teams where we need to play 4 quarters. This might sound a bit harsh but Port really need that killer instinct. They just seem to relax too many times during a game.

I think it is sensible coaching. Primus and a couple of others were rested in the last quarter. Other players would have seen this as a message to drop intensity and ease off in preperation for next week. Why risk injuries when the game is in the bag.

Port Power - very impressive!

You guys sure had the 'power to win' yesterday - your running game style was very good to watch... I hope you guys go all the way this year. We'll have a good even contest when we get rid of some of our dud players & dud coach.

Just 1 question: Do you have a slightly newer version of your clubs theme song? I ask because after the line "until the flag is ours for the taking' usually it goes 'PORT POWER' but at the game it just went 'POWER' - did they cut the 'Port' word out or are there 2 versions?

Changed it to emphasise that the Club is Port Adelaide and the nickname is Power. Either this is reinforcing tradition or a waste of time. Or a marketing move, since the logo removes "port" from power and it's easy to see who is wearing last year's gear.

I guess nothing would be worse than having the game won and someone gets injured. Then again, you can get injured anytime. The thing I'm worried about is what happens when the game is really tight and a players have to be concentrating for 120 minutes? I reckon bad mental habits can develop.

Agree, Ackland is coming on nicely, the leading was great.
