The Port away jumper is a bit bland. The home jumper is much better, especially when worn with black shorts and socks. The back of both jumpers is Traditional Port Adelaide with the white panel on a black background. The 'flash' style stripes on both jumpers don't stand out too well at a distance - something bolder (like the Ansett Cup jumper) would be better.

However - the jumpers of both WA teams are ludicrous by comparison.

Thank you for your comments on Port's playing style.

I didn't like the jumpers to start off with but after watching Port play in them for the last 5 season I have grown to like them. Not as much as the traditional one they wear in the SANFL though. Ports guernsey might not be the best but I beleive will do have the best colours in the AFL.

The Port home jumper looks very smart. One of the better jumpers.

The away jumper looks dull.

The Port SANFL jumper is just plain awful - they look like gaol bars (which is strangely appropriate though).

Port would be mad to drop the teal from their colours now.

Ports' Ansett Cup Jumper is the best out of a very average lot.

Port "Power" should have been called Port Pirates

... and their jumper should have been All Black with a White Centre panel, with a Black Skull and Crossbones on it.

... but thats just a bit too 'hot' for the AFl to handle isn't it ?

cheers

Port's colours also include Silver which is not used in the current jumper, so watch for a sort of "Raiders" to jumper soo I reakon, probably as an away model.

Maybe the old "gaol bar" look with silver insead of white ?

Yes Pirates was the obvious choice and probably better than "power"

They should have gone the whole hog and called themselves the "Port Adelaide Mulletted Bogans".

I'm sure the supporters would have loved to have been personally acknowledged in the club's name.

Well thats what I know them as.

Mullet hunting expeditions during a Port game are pointless. Too damned easy. :D

Funny how the jumpers always look much better when the team is winning games. When I first saw the port jumper I thought it was a dead-set shocker, black white and teal with a lightening strike? What were they thinking.

Now they are regularly rolling the opposition the jumper is starting to look a whole lot better!

Also look at the hawks jumper, baby poo brown and yellow, that is truly awful combination of colours. No one mentions their jumper as ugly when they have won 6 straight.

Conversely, my dockers jumper is not looking too flash at the moment.

I went to the "First of Firsts" and when they ran through the screen I thought what the hell is this? THe Ansett Cup design has some basic Port strength but the rest I've never liked. But it's true. Win and even the teal socks look Ok. Well, maybe that's going too far..

As for the SANFL, the "gaol bars" are a heraldic symbol of a bloodline or dynasty, and it is a powerful symbol of the Club that should have been taken into the AFL. It survices in some hidden form in the logo, but it should be on the jumper.
