It was on Ripleys believe it or not a few weeks ago. The poor fella had some kind of flesh eating disease living under his skin. He was literally being eaten from the inside out, and surgeons had to remove his face to save his life.

The article I read he had a choice to get some drugs to keep him comfortable until he died or go for the surgery. Personally I would have chosen the former.
