Today's game was tough to watch. 35 and 7 from Dame but he had no impact after half time. Gave the other guys good looks with the Lakers swarming him but RoCo and Trent Jr combined for 2/17 from 3. Kanter rebounds and does basic offence OK but is still defensively ordinary. Pretty much need bench Melo to be All NBA Melo to win games like that currently.

Lillard dragging us to another win we didn't really deserve.

Weird that you can watch a guy drop 50 and still not think he was the real reason you won. 50 points, 10 assists, 6 boards, 13/20 FGA, 6/13 3PA, 18/18 FTA, 7 points in the last minute of play. It's getting outrageous now.

Those last 7 seconds from NOLA is the stuff of nightmares.

Trent Jnr and Hood for Norman Powell, not sure that trade does that much for us tbh. Powell is pretty good, but I liked Trent and he was very young.

Seems like a trade aimed at the now. Powell's defence should be an upgrade on Trent, while Hood hasn't been much of a factor for a couple of years.

Also Powell is dead deadly from 3

Trent is also a 40% 3 point shooter though. But yeah Powell is 43% this season, which is stupidly high for the volume of shots.

All in all we haven't enough with the roster to get far in the playoffs, too many holes.
Powell shooting 50% from the field, 44.9% from 3 with a eFG% of 60.5 this season compared to Trent 41%, 39% and 52%.

Pretty sizeable difference there given they take the same amount of shots

Yeah fair points when you look at true shooting efficiency.

Anyways good win against Toronto today, Covington really got us going defensively in the 3rd.

Whenever we play elite opposition it is normally non competitive, going to be another season of making the 1st round and losing 4-0 or 4-1 I'd say.

Looking that way. Feels like we should be so much better but unless Nurk gets healthy and back to something like his best, we're very average.

Poor man's Nets right now. In the Finals last year the Lakers kept the Heat under 100 3 times in 6 games.

Granted the Heat were hampered with Bam missing 2 games and Dragic 4, but which teams are the Blazers going to keep under 100 3 times in a 7 game series? You can't rely on teams having poor shooting nights to win playoff series.

6th on offensive rating, 29th on defensive rating. The mix is different with Nurkic and CJ back, but the Blazers offence isn't good enough to bank on scoring 120+ every game.

If a team (like the Blazers are capable of doing) torches you with 20/40 from 3, then there's not much you can do about that. Problem with the Blazers is how many easy baskets they give up. It's genuinely frustrating to watch.

Stotts should have some pressure on him.

Haven't really had an offesnive gameplan that isn't just 'Give it to Dame' for years.

Rarely beat good teams.
