Put simply, despite being offered full payment for the secured part of his debt in accordance with the financial plan approved by the Football League, this morning Mr Gaydamak has demanded a very significant upfront cash payment in order to allow the deal to proceed by releasing his security.

It is neither in the interests of the club nor its unsecured creditors for such a ransom payment to be made, particularly where the payment is being demanded by one of the authors of the club’s current circumstances.

In addition, and equally importantly, all of the business plans submitted and approved by the Football League would be fundamentally damaged by such a requirement placed on the club by Mr Gaydamak.

However, it appears likely that the club will now be closed down and liquidated by the Administrators as they are unable to support the continued trading of the club.

This has now been undermined by the self-interested actions of one individual. Mr Gaydamak has provided confirmation several times that terms were agreed. However, he has continually changed his position in an attempt to exploit the goodwill of the other parties to the transaction.

By now doing this he has shown complete disregard for the supporters, the club and the City of Portsmouth.

His earlier comments when the club went into Administration about doing everything possible to save the club’s future do not appear to reflect his current actions.
Sad day for football if this occurs and gotta feel for the fans.

Knowing some of the stuff Gaydamak has been upto on a local level this doesn't surprise me, it will be a great shame for football not just for Pompey and us fans don't deserve it but the management who forced through shady deal after shady deal to buy and sell the club should be exposed for what they are, money grabbing bastards who have no love for the team or city.

The administrator's after issuing a statement which isn't quite as bleak as the one on the website.

Granuiad link

The website story is attributed there to pure frustration, but might have been a kind of tactic to get some leverage on Gaydamak - as Mr P@h says there, he's been acting like a total country member over it. Still looks ugly ugly ugly, but maybe there's some hope of a slightly less messy resolution.

Terrible news.

Fingers crossed that a deal can be done here and in Dundee.

No-one wants to see a club go under.

sad, really sad.

but if it's any consolation, I'm sure those fans down there will do an AFC Wimbledon-type venture and be back with a new club.

English Football is dead to me now.

The city of Portsmouth lives and breathes its football club, the whole city will be in mourning. From playing AC Milan only a few years ago to this, there was always hope that someone would save the club, time and time again lies were told, the supporters and city were taken for a ride, owner after owner, lie after lie, there's no point anymore, a proper football club with proper supporters is dead and so is English football.

Play Up Pompey.

The hate and frustration at Gaydamak must be insane.

Just read that his location is unknown and hes refusing to come forward and explain his actions.

The cynic in me says that this is just a shot across the bows of Gaydamak, if they were seriously going to go pop they'd just do it without the well spun "warning". If I'm wrong it will be a great shame, although I'm sure there will be a successfull AFC Portsmouth in no time at all.

On Gaydamak, I'm in two minds. He seems to have taken a heap out of the club, and looks to be showing a total lack of goodwill toward the club, and supporters. But we as supporters embrace businessmen getting involved in football clubs, we can hardly be surprised when they act like businessmen and not supporters. And while we as supporters would do anything we could to save our clubs, I wonder why anyone expects a businessmen to forego millions on a business deal when it probably doesn't make a difference to them whether a football club survives or not.

Anyway, a great shame that it has come this far anyway. Even moreso as the club that looked to be stable, and successful has been blown for the sake of a couple of years of living the dream.

The club going out of business wouldn't be the worst thing in the world as some have said in the news imo, it would mean wiping out the debt, starting again, i'll still support any team that has the spirit of PFC and the city involved.

I do think Sacha has a point in this, he should get his cash that he's owed but he's just been so stubborn with everything, he put Parking fees up on the ground that he owns 200% and put in Wheel Clampers with release fees of up to £500, the reaction seen today has been bulding up through general anger at Gaydamak's actions localy which don't get reported and total disregard to the people of the city.

Better news today though apparently, Gaydamak's lawyers are recommending he should sign the deal, the statement obviously was a bit scaremongering last night but it does show the serious volatility of the situation all the time with the club. If it gets signed we need to get back to concentrating on the football that we've been playing so well recently.

Wasn't Chanrai one of the ones who got the club in to administration in the first place? He'll just strip what assets are left and then sell it on. They're still ****ed. I wonder how much whatsisname will get for his bell.
