I'm only going off memory with only one viewing, but my initial view was that he didn't bump him, he gave him a good jab in the guts - sort of thing that Balla got done for. Mind you if the assess it similarly, then he should get off with a reprimand. Even if it is a bump, if it's deemed unnecessary off the ball, then he can still get 'rough conduct' with lowish points - it doesn't have to be high to get some sort of penalty.

Anyway, I'm talking without really knowing much - would have to look at it again, and with the MRP going all soft now that they've had their annual 'lets screw Fyfe' moment, all might be well in any case.
Just saw the incident... its just after the free kick awarded to zac clarke in the 3rd (can go straight there on smart replay) if anyone wants to see it. doesn't look like anything to me, just a big bump

Let's have a look at some hypotheticals.
We don't deal in hypotheticals....

Macca is getting older and If it is his calf he could be out for a while.
He injured his upper leg - TV showed footage of the trainers putting bandages around his thigh - agree that injuries to McPharlap and Zac could be problematic...

Yeah, had another look and it's not as bad as when I first saw it. Should be OK. But still, I could easily see the MRP finding something there. Not being all negative about it, but they don't like it when players are taken out unaware. Loved what Mundy did myself, but it's just the way of modern footy - should be OK, but I would not be the least surprised if they ping him with low grade rough conduct.

I love the fact that Neal has stepped up as a midfielder of danger around goals and quality around the packs.

He's never going to get a tag with Hill, Mundy, Fyfe and Barlow in the team. If he can start string games like this in a row it will makes us a much more formidable unit.
The best sides have 4-6 quality mids. If he can keep going we'll have that

It looked like we were using him for that (magnificent) kick out of congestion. He was loitering on the fringes of the packs as a handball receive option. He also worked to cut off the oppositions loose man sometimes. He wasn't there all game, but he did this role in Q1 and Q3 mostly.

He certainly did. He is even chipping in with goals occasionally.
Duff = good footy player.

10 marks and 6 tackles ... after reviewing the replay, i realised that i made a mistake of not putting votes to duff
You can still change it if you like.

Duffield has quietly been in pretty good form all year. Very consistent, nothing fancy, but he gets the job done, is clean with the ball and making good decisions with and without ball in hand. He's even getting the odd stint in the midfield again which is interesting. He's an important player, and when in good form is not far off A grade for his position IMHO.

Calf to Macca is very concerning. He would have had a shot and won't feel the injury until tomorrow. Massive blow if him and Dawson both miss port and Geelong.
Is that new? Because from what I saw on the telecast it was upper right leg (high quad or groin), not lower.

Pos: The next three Freo matches all being televised live here, either on Fox Soccer Plus or Fox Sports 2. :)

Neg: Poor internet connectivity yesterday that had me miss Barlow's goal, Mayne's goal and Crozier's controversial decision not to handpass to Ballaz, because I had to repeatedly re-login, reboot and reload the watchafl page, both on my iPad and my laptop.

You have obviously whipped up a surge of international interest in our great game.

One thing that worried me is that while we kept possession of the ball through little kicks and uncontested marks, when we turned the ball over from that we were completely exposed and out of position.

Granted the team wasn't setting up to defend but we looked slow defending the rebound.

Wingard sitting a kick behind play could be really dangerous against us.
Agreed. Kept getting opened up when they managed to break through into the centre square.

As the proverb says, "ask and you shall receive." I emailed an AFL contact of mine last year who I've remained in touch with and besides her, I also copied a Fox Soccer Plus official on it, requesting more Freo games be broadcast, instead of only Victorian teams. The network has responded. A coincidence? I think not. Yes, time slots and our Grand Final appearance significantly influenced that, but I'd like to think my appeal added to the mix.

I was wondering if Elvis was in doubt, right up to when the teams left the room ?. Noticed Silvagni doing the warm ups in the room before the game.
It was curious that we would hold over Alex and Big Jack from Peel.
I thought there may have been a question over Johnno and Dawson but it fits that Luke may have started under a cloud.

It sounds reasonable to us.

Long haired Champs.
Seen a couple mentions of Duffman's game, but seeing that he was at 100% disposal efficiency is the icing on that particular cake.
Don't know how they calculate that stuff and not saying he wasn't impressive cos he was but I clearly remember kicks to contests which we did not win and kicks which were marked by their 3rd up backman???

If Fyfe or Mundy get suspended for that I will give the game away.

They were free kicks at best.
Hate to say told you so, but, well, told you so:

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2014-05-05/mrp-full-statement-round-seven

Mundy will get off on reprimand after picking up low level rough conduct charge, exactly as I first thought. So at least he's free to play next week :), but he still got charged :(.

Not saying it's right, just saying that it was there and now he's going to have a bunch of points hanging over his head - like half the team seems to have at the moment.
