Positive Mindset

Hopefully priddis can positively think himself to better disposal.

Op is rubbish new age crap. The saint went out with passion for Hayes like Brisbane did against north when brown retired.
That and freo were expecting an easy win.

No positive mind control jargon involved.
Do you have to bring Priddis up in every ****ing thread?
Give it a rest.

That stench you talk about is not Simpsons fault right now, it is the smell you smell when you walk into a toilet after someone else has just taken a dump.
Worsfold left it there.

worsfold also left us with a flag less than a decade ago and prelim appearance as recently as 3 years ago. he may have dropped a little deuce and forgot to flush last year but simpson has had some chronic, sloppy, diarrhea and completely missed the bowl

But they can't and they won't. And unless you are with the fairies at the end of the garden you know this ...

The reality is if Saint Kilda bring every last bit of everything they have together and, say, Sydney do on the same day who wins?

You are trying to assert something that isn't true. You have clearly insinuated that this is a big part of the solution at our club, in the OP.

You have then back-pedalled and rationalised after you nonsense was exposed.

Everyone who has ever followed sport understands the importance of self-belief. If this has just occurred to you or you've suddenly seen a light as a result of yesterday's game well, frankly you're an idiot. Assuming you aren't an idiot, if you're sole point was we could be better if everyone just believed in themselves a bit more - awesome. Wow.

But that lead you to conclude we don't need the talent injection most believe we do. We just need more belief

Which brings us back to fairies and magic.

So what EXACTLY was the point of your OP?

And where have I said we do not need a talent injection.
I merely pointed out that we need to get the mix right with what we already have in addition to using the draft and trade table.
I really cant see us changing more than six players on our list which is a far cry from the wholesale changes some are demanding.
St Kilda showed what bringing that intensity to the contest can achieve and I believe that a number of coaches will make the game day tape compulsory
viewing in the next week. Isn't this what Simpson has been alluding to over the last few weeks and why changes have been made?
This type of intensity may have won us the seven games we led in and lost this year and then we would not be having this conversation.
So what part of this is nonsense?

FFS...

How about responding to the question asked? You slip & slide around all over the place ...

It's now your assertion that we are only mindset and desire from having 7 more wins this year? Really? It's talent you clown ...

And this is the reason you are not coach.
North came from exactly this position with only the addition of DelSanto but with the loss of Swallow.
What else changed for them?

???

North? The team that's been building for 5 years+ and will likely finish 6th and challenge for nothing are a benchmark because???

Is that a serious question??

You suggesting they discovered your magic fairy dust?

Put the bong down tracker :)

I'm sure everybody would be happy if we were in their position next year, challenging for a top four position.
And anybody who thinks confidence and self belief are fairy dust is delving in the other dust found in cattle country.
You are way off track this time.

I'm way off what track?

You still haven't explained what the OP was all about?

It's changed from "all we need is self-belief" "to unlock what's already inside" "we don't need that mythical player who will ...." ...

To, we need to add to the list, develop the playing group, becoming more comfortable with the game plan and play with more confidence"

They are 2 almost complete opposite views.

The first says we are there already we just need to uncover the god within and the second says with a lot of hard work and an injection of talent we'll naturally improve.

So what the **** is your actual position?

Why does it change whenever anyone points out your silliness?

And, finally, are you really this dim or the Uber troll we hope you are? (For your sake)

with the saints win over the dockers, we are now the ONLY team not to have taken a "scalp".

we have not had one single against the odds, stirring, inspiring win when going in as underdogs. every other team has had at least one such win.

there is a real stench around our club at the moment. the coach has a lot answer for in that regard. simpson has not been able to get the most out of what was a highly rated list at the start of the season.
You're delusional if you rated the list.

3 years ago is a long time. 3 years ago our premiership hero's carried the team and allowed the young guns to play their games. 3 years ago we were given an easy draw for finishing bottom of the ladder and skewed the ladder as it does every year. At the end of 2012 we over-rated our list when we should have started making wholesale changes. We've held on to good WAFL players for way too long and are paying the price now.

St Kilda are an interesting study. 2011 - 6th, 2012 - 9th then blow it up.

Let Goddard go; trade out Dal Santo; trade out Big Boy aged 25 and get a younger ruck for less.

Invest in the draft. And rely on some kids already on the list.

Try and make the pain shorter and sharper. 2 years later a few good signs.

More high picks this year; good development and their exciting kids have a chance to be something ...

The alternative is to keep the older guys with currency, not develop the kids properly and rely on way too many WAFL level players and make obscure references to desire and self-confidence when it's ultimately about talent ...

Not too hard surely?

EDIT: are we seeing the Bulldogs doing the same now? Against Essendon who have tended to top up a somewhat sun standard list...

Just to amuse you my position is yes we trade and draft as per normal every year but we also attempt to instil in our players a greater desire to win the ball for greater periods. We look for these traits in our present list and develop the right mix going forward. Pretty simple really but you can amuse yourself and put any slant you want on it. At the end of the day you can recruit all the talent in the world but if they don't believe in themselves what is the point.
Just as a matter of interest what do you think young Stanley got out of the game against Freo?

So really you've just backed right away from the OP and said we need to get better.

I mean the bit about instilling confidence is laughable. Many of the players we are complaining about in our side were there in 2011 & 2012, didn't that instil confidence?

You get better, you win, your confidence grows. You can however have false dawns as the win was based on the form of the other team or any number of other issues. See the Eagles finish to 2009 and Richmonds finish to most of the last 29 years :)

Stanley is rising 24 and has had enormous talent for years. He's inconsistent and seemingly has very very fragile confidence. I'm sure he feels pretty good about a good game v a very good (but underdone) opponent. But like most sensible people he'll understand that he needs to produce those sorts of games much more regularly than he has the last few years. Let's hope he does.

I mean you have just got a wee bit carried away and your back pedalling, but it seems Stanley is your last kick :)

What do you think it means?

EDIT: by the way, you aren't "amusing" me. I'm tolerating you. I'm incredulous if you genuinely can't see how all over the shop you are. If it wasn't you, it'd be genuinely embarassing

They found their inner fairy dust as well through meditation at Roos' wifes factory?

As I said you would put your own slant on it but while you are amused I will stand by my original post which simply says that confidence can move mountains and belief in ones self is the first step to success and yes we need to find the right mix of players on our list and yes we should continue to develop what we have but I in no way suggested that we eliminate the draft and trading from the process.
So you agree Stanley will benefit from this game and surely you would agree that other players from all clubs have the so called "breakout games" that instil them with confidence and self belief.

I also believe the sky is blue and the earth is round ...

But I still don't believe in the fairy dust and magic you were peddling in the OP.
