+ There will be no illusion that we are "on the right track"
+ Better draft pick and you'd assume a somewhat easier draw next year.

- 2 years out of the finals is too long for a club that used to pride itself on making the finals every year.
- It would of been better for the competition if a team that didn't make the 8 in 2013 made it in 2014.

Positive... We didn't get embarrassed on national TV by port...
our players will (and should) be shaking their heads watching this garbage richmond are serving up.

we should be embarrassed and furious at letting them take our finals birth. how on earth did we let it slip?

such a disgrace.

Wonder how we would have gone against port today though. If we would be anywhere near as bad as Richmond I'm happy that we didn't make the 8

Positive - 99% of the time, win or lose I firmly believe there is benefit in playing finals footy. Today was the other 1% - the sort of loss that just can shatter the confidence of a side and take a season to recover from (similar to North against us in 2012). I feel a lot better not making finals after watching the Tigers humiliate themselves today.

A bloke who can rotate through the midfield - pick up 20 touches and score a couple or more goals as a forward

Cant see anyone being interested at all
Let's be honest, we won't get shit all for LeCras. The Young 60+ Goal kicking LeCras of 2010 definitely, but the always injured, soon to be 29 year old Lecras is not going to get you much better than a second rounder.

For all those that say things like 'lets trade for A grade mids', I agree. But lets be realistic of players that are tradeable for A graders and top 10 picks.

Mackenzie
Naitanui
Darling
Kennedy
Gaff
Shuey

That's literally about it.
Now obviously when our midfield is the issue, of course gaff and shuey are off the table, so that means if your serious about trading for A graders, it has to be one of the other 4 (unless i've missed a name), but no Schofield, Masten, Butler, Priddis, Waters etc will not go far.

He turns 29 in 11-and-a-half months.

As a straight swap, maybe. We could also package a player with a pick for an upgraded pick that could then be used as a bargaining chip in its own right.

What would we get for LeCras + second-rounder? Or Masten + second-rounder? Another first-rounder?

We can debate what kind of return we'd get but the point is that we don't have to think only about straight swaps.

Of course you can package, this makes sense as well. No problems here....
