Positives -
Williams game
Accurate goal kicking
Season over

Negatives
Another all round pathetic performance
Can't even lose correctly and finish last to get psd pick 1 to take Jackson with

Well I’m glad that’s over, bring on the trades and draft.

Thoughts on the game:
  • I thought BB Williams played his best game for the year and his career for that matter.
  • Hurn was solid, give him another year for sure.
  • Bazzo looks the goods, picked a winner here.
  • Culley didn’t get a heap of possessions but used it well when he did and tackled like an animal. Future gun.
  • Darling provided a target up forward. Seems to relish being the number one forward without the Bearded God.
  • Cripps was decent in his 200th. We really don’t do milestone games well unfortunately.
  • Barrass might have cost himself an AA with his game tonight.
  • Junior unsighted, must’ve been playing injured before getting subbed.
  • Nelson back to the old Nelson.
  • Dixon tried but didn’t offer much.
  • JJ and Kelly solid too.
Big off-season coming up obviously.

Need to trade and draft well, get fitter and replicate the same dramatic improvement in team pressure acts and tackling that we have had recently across the entirety of next season. With a few big names coming back, there is some hope for improvement next year.

Positives
Season over and time to think about the draft.
B. Williams, Kelly and JJ were pretty good. Bazzo and Culley (10 tackles) tried hard.

Negatives
The rest of them.

Kids getting better.
Excuses over.
We playesd the kids on their guns for experience.

At a team level it was First V Reserve Grade
Need fitness and run
List rebuilding is a key
We over hype players. EG Barrass is our best defender but no AA.

Geelong was toying with us. The amount of cutesie they did and worked. We’ve been one of the worst handballing team for a number of years. Rarely do we put ourselves to advantage through handballs. It’s mostly to guys who’s about to be tackled or to guys who just shit themselves and lose the ball. Thank god the season is over.

Obviously a horrid game and Geelong were missing some stars.

However you replace:

Dixon, Langdon, Nelson, Foley, and Rotham with Allen, Naitanui, Yeo, Cole, Gov and Sheed - possibly Chesser, Petch or Edwards ahead of SPS and it’s a much better looking team.

Those players don’t even need to star to make a massive difference, the first 5 I listed are legitimate traffic cones.

Time to bottle draft picks on half-back flankers or overrated mids and fight for the spoon again while senior players splurge their credits at the casino. Bring. On. 2023.

Stress Wtf GIF

In terms of defending Barrass couldn’t have done much more, the quality of ball coming in was exceptional.

His kicking was poor.

Positive- Great game from Williams. If he can become a consistent strong marking target around the ground it'll make us far more dangerous and add a couple of years to Darling's career. I was calling him a bust a few weeks ago but hope he builds on this and beclowns me.

Negative- Too long until the cricket starts.
