Much, much better compared to the last 3 weeks, Jamie Cripps probably had his best game ever for the club. Both Yeo and TK were tremendous as well, while Petrucelle took another stride in his development today.

West also had a great debut.

Congrats to Nic on a successful 200th (we finally won a milestone game).

Harry Edwards should be a mainstay in our team from here on. Our best lockdown defender atm with added bonus of good skills.

Good debut from West. Loves to tackle and get his hand dirty in the contest. What's not to like about him. Just what we needed.

The yoof reinvigorates us.

fast mark and go I liked. Also, the mark and attack corridor was also very good. Connor west with some debuet. NN had one of his best games of the season. Overall really good. hopefully can go on a winning streak from here on to finish 6th or even 5th.

Negatives- the first quarter was terrible. The weather was also great which is still an issue but what was displayed after the first quarter will improve our wet game as well. Looking forward to St Kilda game.

Four points in the bank
Milestone win for Nic in the bank
Five for Crippa in the bank
West with the highest contested possessions on the ground on debut in the bank
Doing something more than possession football in the bank

On a serious note, are Oscar Allen and Liam Ryan carrying something? Oscar has looked out of of sorts for a while and Liam doesn't seem to have got back to his usual standard since returning to the side.

Positives -
win
Cripps finishing
West 13 CP, most out of Eagles players with 19 possessions total
Petrucelle overall game
Yeo looked pretty good
Hurn very good

Negatives -
McGovern still is useless at defending
Ryan poor finishing
Williams looked very bad
Allen looked ordinary at best
Gaff is just a stat whore

Even going 5/5 out of last 5 weeks wont be enough for top 4 so season is over in terms of winning flag. Best can hope for is a home final but that's unlikely given Sydney's draw rest of season. Next best would be an away final at Adelaide Oval vs Port

  • Cripps had 25 or more touches once in his career coming into this year. Has 25 twice against the Crows this year, and a career best five today. Huge.
  • 98 points total after a goalless first term isn't too bad at all.
  • West and Edwards getting a proper run on the ball from Q1 all the way through to Q4.
  • Won by the biggest margin of the game
  • Ryan's second half was massive. 13 touches and 3.3 in a half is game winning stuff from the forward pocket. Needed a rocket so I'm happy that he stepped up.
  • Hurn massive. As pointed out by Keys - seemed like Gov was more accountable which freed up Hurn to be the spare. Interesting wrinkle in the playbook. Also resulted in him getting the ball much further up the field, taking running bounces (!) and delivering inside 50.
  • Nic Nat, centre clearance dominance as usual.
  • TK good.
  • Liked Petch's game, liked Cole's game.
  • Gaff running to much more dangerous areas a lot. Still had some customarily bad decisions, running onto his right boot on the boundary, wtf? But in the second half he was much cleaner with his running and played his role perfectly. Delivered inside 50 well, offered us a handball option off the mark. Bodylined a footy to set up Ryan's goal in the fourth. Really good Gaff game.

No real negatives to be honest, Shuey's injury aside. Sheed was very quiet early but played a good role in the second half. First half was stale as anything but there was a definite desire to be more aggressive, to switch the ball from wing to wing rather than going the full long way around the back 50, and a keener desire to kick through the corridor after turnovers. Happy with it.

20 touches and four shots on goal by Petch - seems to have built that tank.

Connor West going at almost 70% contested disposals and second most pressure acts for the game.

Tom Cole game high 6 tackles after 0 last week.
