Review Positives and Negatives vs Collingwood

Pies swarmed the midfield and stoppages in numbers. Always had a loose player and were getting the bounce of the ball in the second half. Marks to Allen not paid would have released us and Barrass was blocked all night.

Kennedy looks cooked. Darling is clearly our best forward now.

Darling was again pretty dominant when we got it down there. Helped that Kennedy was kept busy by Roughead. Forwards not getting enough praise here imo.

Fumbles. Sheed, Redden, Cole, all pretty bad with their ball handling. Hacked kicks forward from all of our mids really. Didn't deal with the pressure as well as we have been.
Hickey really was given a bath by Grundy I reckon. We miss Hutch most of all in games like this.

?
Pretty sure when Gov went off Q1 it was because he squished his nutsack between his legs. Look at a replay and see how he landed. Wedged in there like a walnut in a vice. He was grabbing down there a lot, mustn't have been sure whether he was still plural. All in all, he might've played through a ruptured testicle. Brave.

Our fwd line should have dominated Collingwood's backline and didn't. Out coached and out desired. Our midfield tries hard but too much is left to too few.

We lost one game against a team we’ve played five times in a year. 4-1.

We lost our second game from the last 10. 8-2.

Percentage off second with Melbourne, North and Carlton coming up. Fold the club.

All valid points and perfectly understood, but it's the massive frustration of an opportunity wasted.

There was a good chance we could've been 2 games clear in 2nd by the end of the weekend but we blew it, what's more we blew it while being close to full strength, playing on home deck and facing an opponent out of form and with 5/6 of their first 18 missing. This loss could be season defining.

Watched the game from the wing in the stands. Felt like Simmo didnt want to show his hand tactically. Our kick ins from behinds were so predictable and we didnt take the game on even when we were behind.

You learn more from losses than wins and Collingwood threw the kitchen sink at us. Our talls couldnt play much worse. Getting 2 hands on the ball all night and dropping marks.

And look at all the opposition fan nuffies excitedly stating that Grundy smashed NicNat. Never mind one bloke has uninterrupted all Australian form while our bloke is 2 games back from his 2nd ACL.

That hickey handball to darling after a mark 15m out in front looking pretty silly now

15 meters out directly in front wtf hickey you hack.

Saints still in him. We can't win a flag with him in our side. That was bullshit, absolute pathetic.

It's natanui and Allen or blood Brooksby.

Negatives:

Ash Barty
The Cricket last night
WCE loss today
Going fishing early in the morning and I forgot to buy bait.

Luckily we still have a chance at some Positives:

Hawks can still beat Freo
Beagles can have a win
I might be able to catch some bait with my throw net.

Thoughts on that last quarter, did we just run out of gas or did anyone see any tactical deficiencies or adept changes by Collingwood? Kept waiting for the boys to get going but...:(

Frustrations understood. I’m flat about it, but it’s just not season over, it isn’t. There is more evidence in the last five years that this side is trustworthy than not. I don’t feel like it’s blind faith to expect them to respond.

We absolutely should have won, especially given where we were at 3QT. It hurts.

Nobody is losing sleep over last year’s Essendon or Melbourne home losses, because the club gave us a reason to forget them. Very little reason to expect we won’t go close again this year.

It is.

That was our moment of the season.
Even if we won't ugly by a point but we couldn't do it.
Hack kicks out of defence...Kennedy constantly ******* up the forwards.
Where was he when we were kicking out of defence, he is supposed to be there to take the relieving marks.

He's past it sadly.

Yeah often the player kicking out from behinds was like come on give me something before he was forced to kick to the pack. Also the inside mids were smashed in the 4th quarter. It was like they couldn't be stuffed trying to win the ball
