Autopsy Positives and Negatives vs Dogs - Rd 18, 2018

+ Said it before the game - today was about four points in the bank. Job done.
+ Masten, Venables, Jetta ramming it up the haters.
+ Cripps accuracy? Wtf?
+ Shuey and Yeo each took turns going up a notch. Good to see.
+ Actually turned into a decent margin in the end
+ Willie Rioli is really good at football
+ JK is such a good tackler

- Accuracy left plenty to be desired even with the conditions
- Still not convinced two rucks was the call today
- Nervous wait on Hurn for being born a big unit

Sneaky plus was the multi of Redden 25+ touches and total score over 141.5 got up with about 30 seconds spare.

+ Four points
+ Broke there spirit early after that we didn't care
+ Gaff more brownlow votes
+Venables
+ Jk pressure is amazing for a key forward

- Sheed

-Sheed being told in black and white that he needs to work on the defensive side of his game, only to come back into the side and lay a single tackle in junk time.

Which means despite the coachs warnings, he has been out tackled by Chris Masten of all people (who managed to lay three)

Thats embarrassing.

+ Shuey, Yeo, Gaff and Redden just look so in sync and organised in there, they always know where each other are and we finally have a starting midfield to have faith in.
+ Kennedy and Darling getting a chance to build some form back in, don't mind the misses I liked what I saw from both of them today.
+ Venables first quarter
+ Masten really good. Ran hard and looked dangerous, also won a few one on ones which was awesome
+ McGov typical good performance, been really good the past few weeks
+ Schofield better today, thought he competed well

- Sheed. Really disappointing. Were a few contests there where he had absolutely no influence at all.
- Vards did ok ish but still not convinced we need 2 rucks, come finals I'd be playing Lycett solo.
- Flattest team song you'll ever hear. Some other songs sound ok sung half assed, definitely not ours

- the game

+ the great Steve hocking getting rid of these ugly games next year

Pretty sick that AFL house has a weather machine. If I had that much control I’d probably end all droughts, but fixing footy is a fine pursuit too.

Barrass in for Schofield.
Ainsworth/Petruccelle/Ryan in for Sheed depending on structure. Liam Ryan is a certainty to make this team for the finals just like Belly said today.

Sheed at half fwd is not his position. Thou he can kick a ball when he gets it.
Masten was good today thou he didnt hit many targets.

All of a sudden we have trade bait.

It's forcing the forwards/defenders to hang back more, rather than push up as much as they did today. Like what happened in that Cats/Dogs game you loved so much.

+ Easy win. Game basically over at 1/4 time
+ Great first time at Optus Stadium
+ Strong ratio between ticket price and hotties
+ Weather held off
+ Venables was really good
+ Schofield proved some haters (me included) wrong

- Goal kicking accuracy bit off
- Had to watch Bulldogs for 4 quarters
- Sheed was invisible. Saw him twice in the 1st and once in the last

Negative - sheed still needs to work on defensive work. Ball watcher and backs off way too soon from chasing.

Negative - gov was a bit too casual at times.

Positive-we won. Venables showed a bit.

Positive - we do not need vardy and lycett

"You either die a Western Australian, or you live long enough to see yourself become a Victorian" - group chat comments about BT today

+ Jetta with 28 touches
+ Vardy building
+ Yeo is elite, will have a Brownlow before he finishes his career
+ Gaff, Redden
+ Average quality game but still a 50+ thumping

- Sheeds workrate
- Accuracy
- Playing at the Dogs level, which was scrappy and unstructured garbage at times
