Positives
- won despite being far from our best
- Rotham looks like he could be a great player for us
- Yeo finally played some decent footy
- Petch
- Gaff ignored the noise and played a cracking game

Negatives
- Sheed fading fast with Gaff back
- forwards were all pretty poor
- we allowed Freo to drag us down to their level

Give credit where credit due, Freo won 3 of the 4 quarters, we lost 3 out of 4 & still won.
Losing 3 out of 4 quarters is not a recipe for success.

It is provided you outscore them by more in the quarter you win than they outscore you, cumulatively, in the other 3. Risky business though!

The guy kicked 3 goals and was one of our better players against the Pies in Gaffs 1st game back and then joined in with pretty much every other mid last week in a poor showing against Freo.
Think you may have jumped the gun a bit there.

More that Sheed struggles in the dour slog type matches moreso than because Gaff is back

Freo applied great pressure around the ball for the entire match.
They didn't take their foot off our throat.
Their backs were good and made our forwards look rattled,
at times they ran the ball out as easily as our backs.
You feel if Freo had kicked straighter, it would've been a major upset!
We also clunked some shots on goal (JK etc)
Right until the dying minutes, we kicked what is usually our one or two game-sealer goals,
then Freo responded with another two goals in last 2 minutes? (Walters)

another positive = the Lions played their Grand Final in round one!!
