You know what, if that means we win a premiership in 5 years, so be it.2001 vibes with how uncompetitive we are.

Simmo is delusional. On ABC Sports Talk he thought the effort from the players was there last night…
2001 we got smashed with injuries as well. You know what, if that means we win a premiership in 5 years, so be it.

If JK is fit and willing to play on Id be happy. He deserves to go out on some kind of upward trendI don't want JK to retire this year. Why supporters would be calling for it is beyond me. If he was in a functioning team he'd be on course for another 50+ goals this year, in fact he'll probably get that in this hot mess of a team anyway.
Considering they've only been at the Club for 5 minutes bit harsh laying part of the blame at their feet at this stage of the game imo - the problems we have had started to creep in after the bye last year if not before - how many games have we won since then - not too many. Also have a feeling with Simmo it's his way or the highway and the assistant coaches ideas aren't taken on board or very rarely and again imo maybe that why Graham and Hickmott both decided to walk and look elsewhere. All speculation of course as really have no idea how the Club won the flag in 2018 and had all the belief in the world and here we are 4 years later - it's just bizarre!Maybe they have something to do with it
It was interesting wtaching at the game that West Coast made the field small and Richmond made it big. Eagles were so defensive and would all crowd back, then not spread hard when they had the ball. It resulted in every player being manned up and no space. It really looks to me like the game plan is the problem. Almost like half the team is playing a different one to the rest.
At times it seems like the older guys revert back to the old kick mark style & then you have the younger newer guys trying to move the ball and take riskier kicks. The result is a cluster fu** where no one knows what the fu** is going on & no one is on the same page. Turnovers galore.
We clearly have players who can play. You don’t just lose you talent. I feel like we have been hit by a perfect storm of factors & it’s all mental. Confidence is completely shot
Yep, hopefully we start to improve as the transition between our old game plan to the new progresses. It was interesting wtaching at the game that West Coast made the field small and Richmond made it big. Richmond did the opposite and got a ton of uncontested possession. This made our players drop their heads as their defensive efforts lead to nothing. Our players were lost, with no system at all.
We have to get betterHe did one.
You could just replay any from the last year though and it'd be the same
not to be overly pedantic but we had a system, just not a good one and the work rate was pathetic. You are right though. It was interesting wtaching at the game that West Coast made the field small and Richmond made it big. At the end of the season I think we will really see who is delist material. Darling is trying hard to get dropped."Adam Simpson admits the Eagles now have 15 weeks to really assess where their list is at"
How the fu** do we still need the rest of the season to know that?
Did more than Mr Kelly. Unfortunately it was for both teams. What the? Naish was absolute trash tonight. Thought he was still playing in the yellow and black for mine.
Will be keen to see Trew. Maybe Joyce. Chesser is who knows. Good news is we get to see who Pick 1 or 2 and low 20's and a maybe late 20's pick. Would imagine a few good kids coming in this year and next. When people say “play the kids”, who else are they talking about.
Hough (19) should play every game he’s fit. Luke Foley (22) and Josh Rotham (24) worth putting games in to as well, even though Roth seems to have sadly gone backwards at a rate of knots and is hardly a kid anymore. Harry Edwards (21) has played plenty this year and continues to lower his colours but is worth persisting with.
Jamaine Jones (23) and Jack Petruccelle (23) worth a look as well, but creeping out of play the kids territory.
Clark, West, Exxon, Naish, Dixon, Strnadica, SPS all spent time in the midfield tonight and, whilst younger than the old dogs, Exxon is the only one under 23.
There’s just not that many kids to play who haven’t already featured heavily.
Trew needs a run when healthy. LEdwards too. Beyond that, the majority of our ‘kids’ are already entering their early/mid 20s and we still don’t know if they can play or not, and the ones we’ve seen plenty of feature prominently in the whipping boy category.
The list is built dreadfully to be where we are right now, but they’re playing just about all the kids we have as it stands.
A bit harsh. Naish could be an 8-10 year player and currently offers significantly more than Gaff.Naish is 23 and has played 15 career games. Tries hard but isn't a polished user and panics under pressure a bit.
If we're going to lose by 10 goals (or more) I'd rather see young players taking the game on and making mistakes than senior players in self preservation mode.
Yeo when fully fit and in form turns the ball over a bit and gives away frees from over zealous tackles and is our best player.

That I definitely agree with. He's fine, he's played 6 games with us after arriving 5 minutes before the season started.
I don't want to see he and others go into their shells because of the standards set by the senior players.
Bit hard to capitalise as a forward being triple teamed constantly and only getting something like 11 forward 50 entries total in a game.At the end of the season I think we will really see who is delist material. Darling is trying hard to get dropped.
Spot on, we have nothing to loose now and must take the game on and grow. Simmos presser was his best since the last Bye. i sensed a confident and positive resolve emerging. He's fine, he's played 6 games with us after arriving 5 minutes before the season started.

Look, there were quarters of this board that doggedly defended our medical and fitness staff for a long, long time there. And at any rate, everyone is almost now on board: we are useless, we are unfit, and if our lives depended our team getting a player healthy, well........we would be writing our last will and testament.
The good news: we can change this
The bad news: we are a club that values stability, tenure and credits in the bank. Look for us to issue a statement next week that our medical, high performance and fitness staff have jobs for as long as they want them![]()
