Negative - we stuffed up our chances of making the 8
- by winning recent games and no doubt winning the next two we will get a crap draft pick

Positive - I'm not throwing anything at the moment

+ Priddis
+ Our backline was absolutely sensational today IMO. Hurn, Mackenzie and Gov were all in our top 5.
+ Our mids weren't found out, they broke even but just didn't have the class for anyone to stand up during the crunch period.
+ Cripps has really impressed me lately, and as long as his chasing continues, i'm glad he's bagging his 2-3 a game.
+ Lycett being a competitive beast. Some of his tackling was tops.
+ Butler was moving really well until that eye poke. Some ABSURD entries into the forward 50 though.
+ Everyone's whinging about him but i liked some of the things sheed did today. It's no secret i'm not a fan but i see some good things.

- Our rucks couldn't have an impact. Low and behold 3 rucks shows just how good it is
- Nicnat was nullified by Ryder. Paddy matched his centre bounce leaps and his marking was taken out of it around the ground
- Cox shouldn't have been in the 22 to begin with
- Tunbridge really hasn't done anything to suggest he is afl standard. Apart from 1 overhyped tackle and goal, what else has he shown?
- Finals looks finished, and we're stuck in the middle of the table.
- Darling and Kennedy didn't do enough for me. Apart from JK's 6 minute burst, what else did he do for 3 quarters?
- Matt named as our 2nd best. Shuey not even mentioned.

Pos/Neg v Essendon

Pos:
- we can let go of that faint finals hope and that we'd do anything. even if we won, and made finals, we'd be shown up straight away. the experience for the younger guys would be good.
- hurn first half. outstanding. what happened in the second man? barely sighted. still such a gun
- i have made a decision to stop putting so much emotional investment into this team. i enjoy loads of sports, and i've been incredibly passionate about loads of teams over the years. but by and large most of them i'm now quite passive about. i love when they win, it sucks when they lose but hey life goes on and who cares..... the eagles was the last team - and the first (many years ago) - that i was really full on about supporting. but after sitting through that second half and seeing that piece of shit soft cocked performance when the season was on the line, it just doesn't really matter to be honest. it doesn't seem to matter to the players - at least not in their actions - so why should it to the fans?

neg:
- that second half way a steaming pile of dog shit. and then when you factor in it was season on the line stuff.... wow. and these guys get picked 200k+ to deliver that.
- essendon's disposals in the first half was beyond diabolical. and we coudln't put them to the sword. they may be a team that is hoping to play finals but they played shit tonight and we couldn't hurt them.
- seeing priddis, hutchings and gaff line up for a centre bounce. there were midfields in the 1920's that had more leg speed than that.
- nicnat was useless.
- australian sport isn't like american sport. if it was american sport i'd cut 75% of our list and start again. but that doens't happen our way. that is what we need to do. we are going nowhere without some serious injection of quality.
- cox? come on man
- tackling. dropped off like flies.

if you like shanks and dropped marks under minimal pressure then yeah!!!

First half was brilliant. Should have had 3-4 more goals in first quarter if not for a few skill errors going forward.
Team looks half decent when looking for targets
Defense looks as good as any in the AFL.

Cox was poor. Love the guy, but he's a 205cm liability in a team of giants.
2nd half was back to bombing forward.
Essendon are on a roll. First the peptides, now paying the umps off.

Positives - when we are playing well we are very potent, and the bulk of our defense is A grade. We just need to shed some fat (Cox, McGinnity, Hill, Tunbridge, one of Schofield/Bennell) and replace it with quality. Once our fringe players are delisted, and our mid-range players are the new fringe players we will be in contention.

Negatives - Lack of midfield star power to wrest control of matches when oppositions have a run on. Tunbridge and McGinnity offering very little. Hill not trying and has talent, but still not having enough impact - we can do better with that position in the team. Bennell also not really doing enough after a good start to the year. Naitanui obviously hampered by injury - looked shot. Give him a break against Melbourne. Main negative is I was being very vocal in an Essendon-dominated area while we were winning and then had to look on despondently throughout Q4

Positives:
Simpson can really coach.
Priddis back to pre round 7 form.
Collingwood and Adelaide weren't that good.

Negatives:
The players we have can't execute his game plan.
Nobody else really stood up to the plate inside.

Was at the game today. Hard one to take but essendon deserved it.

For those that are going on about the umpiring, it's pretty weak we blew it.

Positives: first half

Negatives: 2nd half

Our mids were found out in clearances and in the centre square. We were great on the run and in ball movement but we couldn't win enough of the ball when it counted most.

+ coaching 1st half was great. Unfortunately the players made bad decisions and kicked terribly in the first quarter.

+ loving the Gov more and more every game he plays. What a find...such sticky hands.
Simmo showing passion for the club
- wasted opportunities in the 1st half ... should have had more goals in the bank than we did.

need more players across half forward line who can chip in few mins midfield. our prime movers priddis, shuey and….well thats it, don't get enough of a breather from other players whilst essendon had players who can shift burden of heppell, watson and the like. we got run over as a result.

loving that gov in back line has released h urn further up the ground. '

also, kennedy is dropping way too many easy marks for a FF. he has been doing it all season. focus more son!
