Yes we lost, did we get hammered no. Did we play crap, yes we did and yet we only lost by four points and were still in it with 60 seconds to go. We came out ahead on almost every stat, Kruz keeps improving and has a ton of courage. Gibbs & Murphy had a quite game, but yet Murphy kicked 2 goals and almost won us the game. We will learn from this, in a lot of ways this loss will make the team pull their heads in and not get carried away with the hype. Fev kicked 4 but had 11 shots on goal, Eddie continues his good form. I am disappointed but when we look at the game, we still have a lot of upside.

Eddie, hes just magic

Kreuzer, is a star

Judd, hes getting back to his brownlow form no one can tackle him except for Davey yet he still got it away

Cloke, gives us a contest and won it alot last night

Wiggins, with the pressure coming from Fisher he is performing just like he has two heads and 11 toes:p

We didnt deserve to win and IMO if we did snatch it late we would not benefit as much as the kick up the backside last night SHOULD give us. Could you imagine the thoughts of our players if we won even though we played so poorly, and even more lacklustre effort would follow soon after. So the loss could be seen as a postive in itself

Thats why in a lot of ways this is the loss we had to have, and it's good it came against the most despised of foes, early in the season. The MC will learn, the players will learn. Wiggins I love his courage, but for me all night it was the Kruz this kid is going to be a great of the CFC.

We had the run most of the game, just couldn't put it on the score board. When you look at it there are a lot more positives than negatives.

Kreuzer

This kid will be a deadset champion

How much did we struggle when he was off the ground injured?

Ok that may be a negative but the positive is that with him on the ground we look so much better at stop play situations

Positives for me:-

Kreuzer. Wonder kid. We wanted heart and soul for the club type players, we got one here.

Wiggins. Presented well, besides the shamble of a kick, he did fine.

Cloke. I like him up there.

Betts. keep it up eddie and he'll be our BnF.

Judd. Superstar. Probably sick of carrying our team now though, and would like to get rid of the shoulder strapping, so hopefully the rest start following his lead.

Murphy - Didn't stop trying all night. He really looks set to become an A grade GOAL KICKING midfielder.

Judd - Star. No other words needed.

Wiggins - NEVER gives up. Spectacular mark for his size. Presents very well on the HFF.

Kreuzer - Amazing to think he is winning ruck duels in his 2nd year. Will be something special.

Eddie - Career best form. Keep it up son.

I thought Joseph showed a lot last night. Despite a couple of errors he was hard at it, quick, skillful and made good decisions. Reminded me of Andrew McKay a bit and looks like a potential 200 gamer.

I'm a fan of AJ, but to be honest I thought he had an absolute shocker last night....made very costly mistakes.

Judd was awesome, Eddie good, Murph good, Kreuz good.

Fevola having 12 shots at goal without training due to injury.

Freak and a star.

We still had a chance to win it in spite of the Bombers exposing us for pace and run and carry. The Blues have the fitness to run out games even though our midfield bar Judd and Murphy didn't fire. Plenty of upside to get that close with Stevens, Hadley, Gibbs, Simpson and Grigg quiet.

Would Fev by any chance having pain killers in the foot prior to playing? If so, I'm assuming that the foot would be numb and this could have a hell of an effect on his kicking accuracy.

Every other aspect of Fevolas' game is spot on. His marking, chasing, body work and general team play is as good as it needs to be.

Matthew Kreuzer- this kid is a superstar! He tries soo hard and doesn't get noticed as much as the midfielders. but this kis is something special. He got knocked in the head, went off, got it taped and came straight back on and continued to give 100% , got hit again , went off , came back and gave 100% . He is an inspirational player , and to think he's only in his second year and is still 19 !!!

There were a lot more positives like Juddy - superstar and Bettsy - having a ripper of a start to the season, Murphy- really improved his kicking, Clokey - did well in his 50th match , Wiggins- never gives up and hadley- pretty good in his 50th also.
But Matthew Kreuzer was the stand out for me last night.

I was mightily impressed with Gibbs' maturity and leadership last night, getting in Thornton's face and cooling things down when it looked for a moment like it could blow up. Great sign for your future.

^ Yes I'd have to agree with that, whilst it looked like it was gonna get even more ugly at least Gibbs came in and tried to cool it down.

Anyway besides Eddie's great form so far and of course Judd, the two players that stood out to me were: Kreuz and Murph.

Now Murphy didn't win as much ball as I would have liked, though at times it looked like he was really trying (remember when it took four Dons to hold him down  such a strong little bugger) but I was very impressed with the way he's so far continuing his multiple goal kicking as a midfielder. That goal from the sharp angle on the boundary was just all class and it's great to be seeing his kicking skills on display to show all the flogs who say he's a terrible kick.

And of course...Kreuzer. Seriously have a big man-crush on this guy if it wasn't obvious already. Just imagine if everyone in the team tried as hard as him week in week out. I am so damn glad we didn't give up our number one draft pick to WC I tell ya :o

I might as well mention Wiggins though. He'll cop alot of flak for his strangely terrible goal kicking at the moment, but let's face it, his hands are amazing and one of the most reliable. Along with the fact his always hard at it and fearless I have no doubt he's worth his place in the team :thumbsu:

Murphy: has amazing skills...but I still think that he truly comes out and plays when the game is in the bag.

Judd:Star - but can't be all around the whole ground. He was doing work in the backline, forward and middle.

Wiggins: should seriously fix up his set shot goals. Pathetic.

Eddie: played well in the first quatre. But disapeared early on in the 2nd?

Kruzer - played very well...but I think they need to play him in the forward line more often.

Big positive for me is that we played crap and only lost by 4 points. And it could be a lot worse we could have got done like Eagles and lost by 97 points.
