I thought in all this doom and gloom an uplifting thread might be in order. How about this for starters….
  • For better or worse we’ll be one of the few places in the world watching live footy tonight.
  • They’ll be talking about this season for hundreds of years. We were there, or at least at home watching it on TV.
  • We don’t have to suffer Sweet Caroline every home game. Fans of the song can still play it at home.
  • Ditto those clappers.
  • No over-priced average beer in plastic cups.
  • It’ll be easy for the cameraman to spot the parents of debutants in the crowd.
  • We won’t have to watch Bulldogs games with our noses rubbed in with Gill getting cosy with Thor and his Bulldogs mates.
  • No booing

Positives? There are going to be some bargain opportunities in the share market soon.

Example:Qantas was priced at $7.40 until recently and is now $2.14. Lots of upside to that equation. Nah wait until it gets to $1.20

Kidding, right?
We don’t have to suffer Sweet Caroline every home game.
This COVID-19 crisis is utterly overwhelming; one of the biggest challenges the world has ever faced; a multi-fronted attack on our way of life.

But when you put it like that, maybe, just maybe, it will all be worth it.

Shortened quarters will benefit our younger squad in running out games.
Hopefully it will. Although by the same reasoning, the seasoned opponents could also go harder in shorter quarters knowing that their base fitness may be higher. It'll be intersting to compare to last season nonetheless.
