Yeah I figured it out about half way through
Interesting Freo guys complaining about Solly giving away stupid soft free kicks
Nothing new there I'm afraid

And I'd also have put Bell in your best, he set you up with a few nice spot-ups

Solomon's 2 games have been pretty good, if we get 20 more he will have been a good pick up.

He's a good player, don't get me wrong, but he will give away frees for no apparent reason

Glad to see him doing well to be honest. He's been crying out to return to the forward flank for about 3 years

1. Tarrant + Pavlich = Deadly Duo

If these two weren't born to play together, then I don't know which forward combination was. Taz has been very good already and should only get better as his match fitness improves. He has eased the pressure on Pav and is chipping in with his own goals as well. If he continues on like this he will be an outstanding pick up. And to think, if the pies had taken Pav at #1 in '99, they could have been together for a lot longer (and probably made those two GFs a little more interesting)

CAUTION: SHAMELESS CHEAP SHOT!

The answer was right in front of your face this afternoon...
;)

The problem with Tarrant is, you never ever know which day he's going to be off the rails.

That's where the coach needs to stick up for him, and cop a $5k fine now and then if necessary.
Not much point if they're mainly warranted
Which, believe me, they have been

Although, I will say, he already looks a lot fitter than he was for a few years. Hopefully (for you guys) if he can keep up with opponents he'll be less likely to infringe against them

I think Pav has 9 goals so far, it could easily be 11-12. Looks to be a good chance for the coleman, was paying $9 prior to round two.

I'll give you that, but let's face it, there's not too many duos like Pav/Taz and LLoyd/Lucas going around these days.

Here's a nice little story about the two of them to cheer us up too

Geez it seems the BF supporters (well me at least ;)) and CC are on the same page at the moment.
The thing that has impressed me so far about Taz has been his workrate off the ball

And Connolly praised Tarrant's workrate as a significant contributor to freeing up Pavlich for a productive year, though the ex-Magpie is still recovering from off-season surgery.
"The one thing that impressed us about Chris Tarrant was his selflessness to assist his teammates, and if you go into work with Matthew Pavlich with that value as a starting point, then you have great chemistry," Connolly said.
"We don't think he'll (Tarrant) be at his best until about round six with his fitness, and they'll just get stronger and stronger.

Tarrant's doing nothing different to his time at Collingwood
Dragging the opposition's #2 defender out to the wing, and letting Pav/Rocca work into the space behind

Except he hasn't missed too many inexplicable shots on goal yet, has he? What's his accuracy?

At Freo, he's kicked 6 goals and 2 behind.

And that's exactly what he was recruited to do. He's here to take the pressure off Pav, so hopefully Pav only has to compete with 1 or 2 opponents, not the 3 and 4 he has had to deal with previously. If Taz can kick 40 himself this season, and free up Pav to kick 60 or so, most Freo supporters will be very happy.

Taz has kicked 6.2 so far (2.0 last week and 4.2 this week) and according to CC is still a month off peak fitness.

Another big plus when looking at his stats is his tackling - he's had 6 so far, compared to Pav's 1. When Farmer returns, the ball will not be getting out of the Freo forward line easily.

Lol, What do you reckon about Taz so far?

Excellent today, especially his kicking for goal which is supposedly suspect. Worked hard last week but the delivery to him was poor. Fletcher and Michael are one of the best backline duos going around, we could see some real carnage against teams like richmond and hawthorn.

It's a worry though that Tarrantula and Pav have kicked 15 goals so far and we've lost both games.

For sure, the defense has been a bit leaky and too many goals have been kicked on rebounds from the forward line.

nothing supposed about it - Tarrant's a horrible kick for goal

We are missing a few from the backline, but they are more possession winners than defensive stoppers. Port and Essendon have kicked accurately, which suggests they have been taking their marks infront of goal. When we have beaten west coast recently their supporters have been quick to blame poor kicking from their forwards, but a lot of that is due to our defenders pushing their forwards to the boundary. Hopefully we can start doing that again from this week.

I thought you guys played relatively well. You were competitive and got better as the game wore on. Reminds me of when we were just getting over our Melbourne hoodoo, you just have to get a good start over there and I reckon that will happen more and more this season (although I don't know how many games you guys have over there). Hopefully the Dockers will start playing more like they did late last year soon (although not next week, round 4 would be good :D ).

Am expecting a real tough contest next week. I think you guys will probably have the wood over us (although as usual I will be tipping the Evils). I think the only thing on our side is no Johnson and Farmer. The thing I find most troubling is the fact that the Dockers are so often up and down. After a couple of losses that would have been unexpected at the beginning of the year, you'll probably spank us in what one would have thought would be a tight contest at the start of the season. Hopefully that won't happen but, no matter who wins I at least want some suspense!

Thanks for the indepth analysis.
That's where it starts, and ends. Kicks almost as many points as goals most years - and worringly, it's the hard ones he kicks (snaps, tricky angles etc.)

Technically looks ok, but some matches he just gets this troubled look on his face, and can't find the middle, stabs it, hooks it, does anything but kick them

Might be mental - we all know he ain't too bright - and maybe he'll settle down a bit away from Eddiewood
