Am expecting a real tough contest next week. I think you guys will probably have the wood over us (although as usual I will be tipping the Evils). I think the only thing on our side is no Johnson and Farmer. The thing I find most troubling is the fact that the Dockers are so often up and down. After a couple of losses that would have been unexpected at the beginning of the year, you'll probably spank us in what one would have thought would be a tight contest at the start of the season. Hopefully that won't happen but, no matter who wins I at least want some suspense!

The first derby of the year has been decided by less than 2 goals for the last 3 or 4 years.

Hopefully for us all that happens again this year and we see both teams step up to their full potential instead of the good, but somewhat disappointing, football we've seen from each so far this year!

That's where it starts, and ends. Kicks almost as many points as goals most years - and worringly, it's the hard ones he kicks (snaps, tricky angles etc.)

Technically looks ok, but some matches he just gets this troubled look on his face, and can't find the middle, stabs it, hooks it, does anything but kick them

Might be mental - we all know he ain't too bright - and maybe he'll settle down a bit away from Eddiewood

He was very calm and composed.
The 2 he missed were on very tight angles.
Looks the goods and I am salivating waiting to get the Wiz back to be running at the feet of these guys.

For sure, the defense has been a bit leaky and too many goals have been kicked on rebounds from the forward line.

I still think it is our midfield. For sure the defense is a little leaky with Johnson out, Mundy in very average form, Parker nearing the end and Black missing. They are letting the forwards kick un-acceptable scores. But we are getting burnt for pace in the midfield, and we are not capitalising on Sandilands dominating work.

14 contested possesions for Haze. :thumbsu:

That is an incredible stat.

With a dominant ruckman, and a guy like Hasleby getting 14 contested possessions - we should be owning the clearances and stoppages. Own the clearances and the stoppages, have an unstoppable forward pair like Pav and Taz, and you should be winning most games you play.

Where were the receivers, the runners - and what were they doing when he was in their winning the hard ball?

biggest positive for mine would have to be the fact that you lost. but seriously, if you want to be considered a genuine contender you have to beat teams like essendon away even if the umps are raping you.

We actually won the stoppages but got caught out on the rebound usually after We coughed it up.

Talking about tackles Brownie has the Wiz's spot and didn't lay a tackle all game. :thumbsd:

kerr and judd rack that up weekly.

The bit deleted before posing was how you weags all get hot and bothered and excited and rave on how they are the two best midfielders in the league.

Maybe hase is just as good, then... especially considering he's been playing on one leg for the past 2 years. :thumbsu:

hase >>> kerr and judd.

You forget how good his best is. :)

But thanks. You have helped to show why so may of you weags can't handle anyone or anything from Freo being up around the mark. Judd is no doubt the best in the business, and Kerr is right up there in the top few, but Hase when on song is very, very good. The fact that he is finally fit, and can match the hard ball gets with the best there is, shows that he is a class player.

My point exactly. We have Hase in there doing all the dirty work in getting the ball out, then drifting forward taking screamers a 180cm bloke shouldn't be taking, while half the rest of the team stands back and watches.

And no tackles for Browne?? What happened to the little terrier who fights for the ball at all costs???

I want Johnson back :( His skill through the backline is missed sorely.

Farmer for his defensive forward pressure too..

Tarrant and Pavlich were both excellent yesterday.. I was well stoked! Pity about the result though ;)

Training this week is going to be closed most likely. Wonder if SKILLS will be on the agenda this week.... but you can't just expect miracles in a week can you?

Yeah, I guess a more realistic option would be for supporters to volunteer themselves to play eh?

Maybe you should put your hand up for a skills coaching position while your at it Mem.

Well roundhouse, I am an athlete, just not an AFL (or any) footballer. I have played in many team sports, just not so much in football, because I wasn't so interested in it as a kid (late developer). My friends/family say I should play football now because of my build and they think money is in it... but I don't really have any problems with money.. and my only motivation would be to play for Fremantle because I want them to win a GF (which is kind of arrogant on my part to suggest I could influence them, however that would be my goal).

The only thing really stopping me at this stage is the talks I've had to a few players (not many) who say their bodies feel like they are 40 years old when they are only 26-28. I don't want to be permanently disabled in older life just because I wanted to play football. Oh and also, and I guess whether I am any good at actual field kicking, which is hard to determine until you've been taught correctly how to kick on the run. My speed and strength are already at an AFL level, it would just be my skills...

Right, so you don't have the skills or the heart to put your body on the line, but you are an athlete. Is that you Gilly?
