Just a quick note from me in regards to Hinkley and in particular Ibbotson. They both worked harder off the ball than the majority of their teammates, whether it be through presenting hard or chasing and pressuring.

Also on Ibbotson, he was actually one of our better leaders from a vocal standpoint in my opinion. He kept talking, and was yelling out instructions to Ruffles during the last term. The attacking side of his game was his only negative.

Hinkley was hardly on the ground, and when he was he was buried in the forward half. Which means he was "working really hard" hundreds of metres from where the ball was (watch the Fox IQ replay, you'll see exactly what I mean in Q1, Q2 and Q4). Wowee. His "hard work" would have been much better had it involved tackling, smothering, shepherding or even standing the mark. Hinkley's game is the first time this year I've seen an AFL listed player give up free kicks and not stand the mark for them - kind of like passing the buck in the hope that the coach blames the poor sod who happens to be on the goal line instead of the slacker that actually failed to chase or gave up the free kick...

Wow, Ibbo yelled at one of his own team-mates who was a first gamer. Pretty awesome stuff. Amazing that he didn't find time to yell at Murphy, Hinkley, Peake or maybe even the Adelaide players. Ibbo was soft as butter tonight. Just carp.

v) There's plenty of beer at the barbie I'm heading fashionably late to now, so I should be able to drink enough to forget that I'm a Freo supporter for a while

Well it was kinda hard to forget I was a Freo supporter considering I decided to wear one of my Freo shirts to the barbie.

I knew there'd be a few eagles supporters there waiting to give me shit so I figured I'd wear it as a pre-emptive f**k you to all of them.

You really have an agenda to push dont you.

Yep. My agenda is simple really - every single post on this board that mindlessly praises Hinkley, without posting a single objective example of where he actually threw himself in to a contest, deserves to be shown up as the rubbish that it is. Oh, and if you really think Tyson Edwards is Adelaide's best mid, you need your head read.

Haha, it's like talking to a 10 year old kid. Clearly you know best.

No Chris, clearly while I am a 10 year old, you, the greatest mind of Fremantle football, know best with your awesome knowledge of all things football. Oh, and your exceptional knowledge of Mundy, Hinkley, Bradesman and Murphy. Yep, and the post where you said you only attack Suban because he gets praise on this board. That definitely qualifies you as an expert. And all of your incredibly insightful comments on the Under 18 champs definitely means I'm not worthy of even responding to your posts...

Look. I'll say it straight from the heart. I think Fremantle of late has gained alot of respect within the AFL. You guys are no longer the whipping boys. I know today was a thrashing, but there are many reasons for that.

Personally, and i think within the league, there is a renewed respect for Fremantle, teams no longer expect to beat you, but expect a contest, and I think that is a massive step forward for the FFC.

I look forward to the next couple of years, because I think there will be alot of close encounters between not just us, but many teams within the league.

P.S Hill is a gun

Seriously mate could you type that without pissing yourself? The lack of fight from the majority of players was disappointing tonight to say the least, I get where you are coming from, and I can understand you posting something similer last week, but we need to start eliminating games like this, Collingwood game and the Saints game earlier in the year.

Well BPG, as flattered as I am that you took the time out to write a nice rant about me, I must say I'm a little confused.

All I did was offer up my thoughts on the game and on Hinkley's performance, and then made a little joke about your stubborness. I didn't see the need for a sarcastic attack on my knowledge as a poster. Something which I have never claimed to be any better than anybody elses.

One thing I am interested in is the constant mentionings of Mundy, Murphy and Bradesmaen when you talk about me. I never mention any of them...unless you have it in your head that I am Bradesmaen? Otherwise I'm just a little lost.

Hinkley was shite but he had about 16 mates out there. In a demolition like that, you've just got to look for little things to be pleased about.

- I thought Hill was close to our best. Not sure if the stats will back this up, but several times he took the opposition on with his superior speed and managed to do something with the ball.

- Wow, I'm struggling to think of something else. In actual fact, the score could have been much worse if the Crows had kicked straight. Tippett missed a couple of sodas, ditto Porpy. It could have seriosuly been 150+ points.

- Another positive is Duffield. Sure, his skills aren't always perfect and he missed a couple of shots on goal, but just look at him running the length of the field to be part of the contest. At times he was kicking the ball out from full back, supporting us on the way out from defensive 50, and bobbing up for a kick on the half forward flank, all within 30 seconds. Love your work, Duffman. :thumbsu:

positives....wow.... this is a hard ask.

Clarke - so agile for a big fella.
Priority pick come on down.
Greg Broughton - fantastic young man. Show those other gutless wonders how it's done
Sandilands - how important is he to us? Lock him in now Harvey and co
Did I mention Broughton??
Ruffles - tough tough debut game, but showed real guts
Oh and Broughton goes alright eh?

It might be just me, but I'd like to see you post something other than constant praise for Hinkley. After every game its the same tripe & when someone justifiably rips into him for yet another poor game you spit out rubbish about how hard he was working when no-one apart from you was watching. I really hope the club has higher expectations for this kid than you.

positives...
1) Broughton
2) Ruffles
3) Marcus North.

Believe it or not, not all my posts are about Hinkley. Although granted the majority probably are. I take the job of being his buddy seriously, and will defend him against anything I think is unfair. As for the 'rubbish' that I defend him with, I say it how I see it. Do my opinions differ from most? It would certainly seem so, but that's the beauty of opinions.

My other positives from the match are;
- Grover. He tried hard all night, despite not having the best match up. You could tell how much being captain meant to him.
- Broughton. He gets better every week, and clearly relishes having the opportunity to play AFL.
- Clarke. The kid will be a star ruckman of the competition.
- Ibbotson's tagging job. Edwards is one of Adelaide's best two midfielders, and he shut him down. Just needs to make sure he doesn't forget about his attacking game.
- The defensive pressure of Ruffles and Ballantyne.
- Hill. It's amazing how skilled the guy is, is a one touch player when everyone around him fumbles.
- Suban's best. His best is very good, and the kick under pressure along the boundary highlighted this.

I thought Freo showed a lot in the first hald especially against us at Subi. Plenty of young talent there and a few seasoned Vets.
Similar to Carlton your good is very good but your bad is horrible.
You have stuck with them through a lot already. Why quit now?

i wont have to waste my time with this bucket of sh#t team any more.. thats it ...no more.
Good riddance to ya :thumbsu:

Yep, he is constantly banging on about Hinkley.

"Hinkley did this, Hinkley did that" when in actual fact Hinkley did **** all. Chris, please blow your Hinkley trumpet with your mouth and not your arse.. i.e. wait till there is something worthwhile mentioning about him rather than crapping on.
