I'm starting to see Clarke's upside more and more. I think he's a bit hesitant going for the loose ball in a contested situation though, maybe worried of being caught with it. When he goes hard at it he looks like he crunches people with tackles.

Fyfe and clarke always seem to be flying for the same mark. wish clarke would back off and let fyfe fly for them. He'll win that contest 9 times out of 10 i reckon. For example at the kickouts theyll both be in the same area of the ground and the obvious targets and then they just spoil each other

What would be more frustrating is know one flying for the mark ala Duffman for Gablets 2nd goal (i think)
Im sure they will work it out
For some reason they only like kicking out to the Subiaco members side of the oval when there is quite often players in space on the Roberts Rd side

Agree with all the OP's points.

Although, Mayne shouldn't have played, I saw him 5 mins into the game looking VERY proppy, limping heavily and only running at 50% to a lot of contests. He needs to swallow his pride and accept when his body won't let him run out a full game.

Clarke = 7 odd tackles for a big man too. :thumbsu:

I sit on the Roberts Rd side of the ground and we reckon it is written into their player contracts by the AFL, "all play (if possible) is to be directed along the Commentary Wing".

It's uncanny.

I sit on the Roberts road side, around the city end flank, and the ball rarely comes near us.

Not a "game day" positive, but introducing Mz, Griffin, Lower and Mellington as very decent debutants for the club, and Pitt getting a llok as well, is pretty remarkable. I can see those four sitting best 25 which is what you need.

Ballantyne simply lifts the side with his intensity.

His attack on the ball carrier and run to the next man in the chain is infectous.

We are simply a 5 goal better side with him in the side.

Posting something in the positive thread eh???
Who are you and what have you done to the real GG?

Not especially a positive from this game per se but we've been managing to keep our names out of the umpire's notebooks this year. I think Pav has been the only report this year. Doesn't the AFL have some fair play award each year? I suppose the glass half empty types will say this is a negative as it shows we haven't been hard at the ball.

I guess besides Ballas, there's nobody else in the side anymore that could potentially snap and get himself scribed into the umps book. No more Carr, Farmer etc.. Much more disciplined unit now in that respect.
Don't know if I'd pick SNOS if I wanted to kick on after closing time. Crowley looks like he doesn't mind handing out fat lips either. Other than that we don't really have an enforcer type but it's something that's largely gone out of footy nowadays. Not a bad thing imo.

Agreed. It's been a big thing for me since Harvey has come to the club, that the number of suspensions and reports have gone down to nothing. There is no value in being undisciplined.
