I know people have been on Ibbo about his one-on-one contests etc. but I thought some of his rebound from the back 50 was great. I can remember numerous times he cut through the opposition and got a kick away.

Watching yesterdays derby, I wasnt at my near fatal heart palpitation level - as per normal. I had a feeling it was going to be tight, and really thought we would win. But After the game I thought about our team at the end of this year - maybe playing finals - maybe not.

If we are in there, hopefully with Sandi and Mundy - Pav forward Its going to be exciting.

We were 1 point away from beating a team that the WA media will tell you are the real deal, we lossed griffen and had Clarke up against one of the best ruck combos in the league. Hill was fingered all game and Mayne seemed injured also. Yet again, they had no bloody injuries......

Great Game, if this year doesnt turn out the way we want, Enter the Dragon next year (Morabito) GO FREO!

The media are having orgasms as to how good the Eagles are this year yet all that really seperates us from them is the result of that one kick. Taking into account our record breaking injury toll it represents a pretty reasonable result and optimism for 2012.

Considering your crippling injury list, it's remarkable that you're still in the fight. I really hope you get Sandi and Mundy back to make an impact this year. (It's always good to wipe the smug looks off supporters over here when they have to face a strong non-Victorian side). I think last night's match proved beyond a doubt that if you didn't have such an injury list, you should be challenging for the flag.

Fantastic game...The intensity was finals like and as someone has already said losing to the Eagles is nothing to be ashamed about. Micky B was impressive but I thought Zac really came of age today..I think it may work in our favour that every game from here on is critical as it seems to bring out the best in us.

Also, FWIW, I felt Harvs was using him in the forward line a fair bit today, especially in the second half, and I don't think that is the best place for Micky B. I also think he'd be even better if he had Palmer and Lower both playing full games in the guts with him, but what would I know...

Reckon Harvs had him in the forward line a lot as he just wouldn't have been able to handle a midfield role for much of the day. He's definitely more handy in the midfield, but I think he'll progressively get his time midfield ramped up as his conditioning picks up.

Gutsy performance. Despite the loss a very positive day. Cant talk it up enough. Put Mickey B in your dream team and Frodo Baggins well, my word. That guy mentally dragged up the team when all seemed lost. Other teams in the 8 are on notice that Freamantle are coming up as September approaches.

Thought Barlow looked dangerous when up forward at times tbh.
And agree Strobe, Micky doesn't have enough match fitness to play 4 qtrs thru the midfield.

For a guy who lacks match condition, he was still close enough to best on ground for us. 26 disposals, 14 contested, 4 I50s, 4 clearances, and a goal.

1. Stephen Hill. Got absolutely belted, picked himself up and ran out the game. Stood his ground and took a great mark on the wing that could have had him smashed again. Great game. Put his body on the line and added a heap of run and class
2. Balla. Little bloke was battling from start to finish, and was really a spark for us. That kick at the end was incredibly tough and he nearly pulled it off
3. Effort. Despite having a few players a bit underdone, the guys were still running their guts out, and we had a brilliant fourth quarter despite being just about out of gas
4. Zac Clarke. Huge, huge effort from the young bloke. Thought he pretty much broke even with the (current) best ruck tandem in the league. Great second efforts and tackling. A break out game from him
5. Clearances. Although we lost the hitouts by a wide margin, the mids did a great job when the ball hit the deck to keep the clearances pretty even
6. Negation. Thought that we did a great job overall in shutting down the best opposition players. None of the Weagles seemed to really break the game open individually. They have some very, very good players and I think we did a great job in keeping their best players pretty quiet
7. Final margin. Despite the fact that we had an incredibly tough game last week, one day less to recover, were playing one of the form teams in the comp and are missing two of our best players we only missed out by a single point. Was an arm-wrestle for most of the match and we very nearly pinched the game.

1. Zac Clarke. Best game I've seen him play and that double chase in the last quarter was really quite inspiring
2. Micky B. Superstar. May not have fitness but still knows how to find the ball
3. Last quarter. We were gone for all money but we fought back so hard and were a poster away from the most memorable win in the clubs history

There are more but that's all I can think of at present
