If it's a blow out tomorrow to either team we could still be in the 8. I think North would only have to win by 40 or so? Bit more for the Bombers.

Not that important yet (and its likely to be a close game) but still would be nice going into the last 3 games.
 
One positive is that we will never have to see Suban put on a Fremantle jumper again. His last two games have been pathetic.

Griffen was great. Walters did his job. Duffield and Mundy were great, when one's in good form so is the other, same as when they're out of form.

De Boer was good but mucked it up a few times.

A positive for me is that without Mcpharlin, Fyfe and Mayne and some players playing so poorly (ibbo,suban, spurr, dawson) along with Dangerfield tearing it up, we were still in touch for most of the game.

2. We don't have to play at shitbowl pathetic slum Footy Park again this year.
3. We stayed in touch for almost the whole game, despite the repeated howler turnovers.
4. Elvis is back next week.
5. Walters was excellent in limited opportunities.
6. Crowley just keeps on keeping on.
7. Duffman was better again today.
8. Pearce was excellent, really held his own against one of the premier midfields in the comp.
9. Neale came back with a spring in his step and a fair bit of drive at the ball.
10. Barlow and Mundy continue to improve.

Plus, gorgeous shorthair showed up at my local again, and... I won't ever have to deal with the alcoholic ******* 55 year old Crows fan and his two inbred halfwit sons that showed up. True toilet water drinking idiots that show the worst of all South Australian stereotypes. No doubt they are on their way back to the Snowntown bank vault as I type...
 
Don't normally post on other teams board but I though Griffen out pointed Jacobs today. Big Sauce has had a great year but Griffen beat him comfortably. Haven't seen to many of your games, with Sandi out has Griffen been playing like this regularly??

Griff:) big positve of another LTI to Sandi - hope he can stay in the team with sandi when he comes back - time will tell, but clarke is out at this stage and Kepla probably as well as we don't want more than a couple of talls...

After the first couple to get a fitness base Griff has been fantastic
 
Has beaten the best 3 ruckmen in the AFL (IMO) over the last two weeks.. much kudos :thumbsu:

How long until the Adelaide clubs move to their new oval?

I hate watching us play at AAMI, it's like they're running around on a windswept Siberian plain.
 
How is Walters going now?
I asked the same question a year or so back and was told he was lazy but was very skilled.
Sounds like he is doing OK for himself now.
I ask because I told Matt Rendell Crows should recruit him and he just laughed in my face (said he was too fat).

Was.

Got sent back to Swans. No training at Freo for about 4 months.

He got fit, dropped a heap of weight.
Has played 5 games since coming back in. Has the motor now to pressure and chase.
Has kicked 11 goals too @ 2.2 a game. Extrapolate that and you've got almost a 50 goal a year forward. Is only averaging 10 touches a game but mostly they're extreme quality. Milne averages 12 in the same position. Got 3 goals yesterday and missed the soda set shot which is unlike him. His worst game since coming back was against Port, strangely.
Ballantyne in comparison has kicked only 17 for the year @ 1.1 and has less than one tackle a game more.
Stephen Milne by comparison is averaging 2.4.

Has the best kick I've ever seen at Freo and is a natural footballer. Glad Ross got him sorted out.

How good was his pin point pass under pressure to Ballantyne (I think) yesterday when he was standing inbetween 3 Crows players!

Walters - i have been a doubter on, but i will give it to him, he's trying hard - is a great kick - possibly needs to become a bit less goal conscious when he marks in the forward 50 - his first attempt was a miss from straight in front from 40 or so and if he had of played straight on to pav who was in the clear just out of the square it would have been a soda - he needs to keep looking around (like mayne, deBoer, pav and balla do) when they mark inside 50 between 40-50 out to ensure there is no better targets. That sort of play would really cement his place in the side...Aside from that he is doing really well IMO:thumbsu:
 
Another +ve, SCOS can't be blamed for the loss. Any idea why he didn't play? I've been assuming it was for "team balance" following Fyfes "rolled" ankle, but that could be a heap of crap.
Just what does he have to do to get a game?

He as sick apparently. No way was he left out. Could really have done with him yesterday!

He's one of the best shots at goal in our team, the last thing I want him doing is trying to pass off when he's in range.
 
As the adelaide fan pointed we could easily have been blown out of the water in the first half if they had kicked straight... Still thats thier problem and we kept on fighting bravely, which hopefully we can start building as a culture like geelong still has and north melbourne particularly had in the 90's What it takes I think is to have all the experienced players to lead by example, not hang their heads and stop running. Me and the mrs had been to 6 games int the last two seasons at pattersons only to see them fall away in at least 1 quarter every game, and it was clear that either fitness or effort was lacking. Last week we saw our first win in 7 games and while we were good west coast was second rate, they gave up. # 1 positive - fighting spirit



- Need fyfe in for the midfield to be strong enough for Pav to be effective up foward, against top 4 side.
-Skill levels of battlers -(Mzungu, De boer, Spur) need to improve.



Dangerfield was the difference for me. Damn he's good.
Good effort in Adelaide for the team we played.

Lower wasn't in Adelaide. Think he'll be good for next week, I really think the addition of Lower and Fyfe is vital for next week. Thursday selection can't come quick enough...
 
1) Big Griff. Plays with a lot of ticker, gives his all in the contest. It's been said before, but damn it's nice to have a player who barracked for the club showing so much passion.

2) Walters. So stoked Sonny has lifted his work-rate, put in the hard-yards and is now reaping the rewards. Would have been a shame to see such a talent go to waste, get him another contract! Sublime skills by foot.

3) Duffield turning his form around. Finally going back with the flight of the ball, took a few nice marks in defence as well as hitting some great targets on the rebound. Still room to improve, but we need good use coming off the half-back line. If Duff-man can continue to work on his defensive side he can really hurt the opposition in this role.

4) Plenty of upside next week with Fyfe and Lower providing some real drive in the midfield and McPharlin back to organise the troops down back.
