Once Xmas/New Years is over, into the NFL playoffs in January then it is all go for AFL in late February.

I reckon Rach as sub was the right move. Underdone, almost certainly would have blown up if he was trying to keep up from the get go. Lachy Neale's GF influence is as much further proof as I need. But Rach's performance on its own, compared to Max's return, was plenty anyway.

Wow, I didn't believe you, so checked for myself. Carmo has genuinely posted once in a positive thread and only to complain there's not enough positive posts. You wouldn't believe it possible if it wasn't there in clear text.

I think the difference is we needed a lift and a spark after a disappointing finals, Brisbane could afford to let Neale come on late, their midfield just won a prelim.

My firm view is that would have been a desperation move and ultimately reduced his performance value.

You still need to maximise the performance outcome of your players. We did it with Rach, it’s just that we wore others into the ground. And we’ll do it again in 2026, and with vigour.
