I know... it’s early... but I had a bit of time on my hands...

So here are some milestones that might (in some cases should) be hit in the next season (with the possibility of 6 new Life Members)

Career Games milestones:

Shane Mumford (192) needs 8
Matt De Boer (187) needs 13

150
Toby Greene (145) needs 5

Lachie Whitfield (133) needs 17
Nick Haynes (128) needs 22

100
Sam Reid (90) needs 10
Aiden Corr (82) needs 18

50
Daniel Lloyd (39) needs 11
Jeremy Finlayson (38) needs 12
Harry Perryman (36) needs 14
Brent Daniels (33) needs 17
Sam Taylor (30) needs 20

Club Games milestones:

Phil Davis (148) needs 2 for 150
Heath Shaw (135) needs 15 for 150
Shane Mumford (92) needs 8 for 100 - F/S eligible
Sam Reid (80) needs 20 for 100 - F/S eligible
Matt De Boer (49) needs 1 for 50

Goals

Harry Himmleberg (76) needs 24 for 100
(Cogs, Kelly & Ward need 22, 23 & 26 for 100 but... you know...*)

Jeremy Finlayson (48) needs 2 for 50
(Lloyd needs 19 & Jacobs 2 for 50 but... you know...)

*although Cogs has averaged a goal a game over the past two years so... maybe?

Other miscellaneous milestones:

Callan Ward needs 52 kicks to get to 2,500 and 38 disposals to get to 5,000

Heater needs 100 kicks to get to 5,000 (how many OOF is anyone’s guess) and 44 bounces to get to 1,000

Nick Haynes needs 24 marks to get to 800

Toby needs 2 marks to get to 700 and 55 tackles to reach 500

Update for this with a lot going on with season changes but

MDB and Mumford on 196 games MDB should come back in when he is over his injury and 200 games will be a great achievement for him, Mumford should be in for 4 more games with Jacobs likely to need a rest at some stage although it will be touch and go for Mumford to make it to 200 if Jacobs keeps improving

Coniglio/Whitfield both on 142, maybe last H + A game for 150

Corr 92, 100 will be up at some stage, I am hoping his body holds up

TOJ 47, hopefully he can celebrate 50 with a few goals

Perryman and Lloyd both on 45 and hopefully Lloyd is back playing although he is likely to miss this week and he may be ok to go for the following week and barring any other setbacks he should be able to make 50 by the end of the season

Daniels on 42 and with his durability he should hit 50 games before the end of the season although he may need to start impacting the scoreboard

And the sad story of Reid who I dont think will make it to 100 games after his great year last year he is stuck on 90 games and still 2 weeks away from a come back and I think most see this as his last year on the list hopefully he comes back for a couple of games

A nice milestone, but not the same as for players - the club plays week in week out (well, except for coronavirus!), but players can be injured, suspended, out of form.

My top 3 moments would be:

1. The final siren going at the MCG at last year's prelim against the Pies - front row at the G with my son, knowing that Giants were in the GF for the first time.

2. The lightning storm game round 1 2014 against Swans - our first win over big brother against a dramatic backdrop.

3. The 2016 QF - first final, first win (also against big brother Swannies).

All memorable because of them being significant moments for the club, the team playing well, being there with family, and the crowd atmosphere.

If my maths is correct, and its possible I'm wrong, if Mummy gets picked next week it will be his 100th game in the Big G.

Father Son baby, and by all reports his sons are a wrecking crew.
and I think its Shaws 150th in Orange next week.
Off by one on both I think, so week 16.

Perryman gets 50 next week, Lloyd in week 17.

Cogs and Whitfield should get 150 in Round 18 too, Corr 100 and Daniels 50. What a week.

Possible, I dont know how quick the Giants media crew are on updating the Giants website.

But some great milestones coming up. Great for the club.

While I'm excited for Cogs getting his life membership, Whitfield has always signed very early and shown his love for the club so very happy for that one.

Round 18 shaping as a nightmare then - we never do well in milestone games. :(

P.S. Has everyone noticed that Jezza has taken over from Cal Ward for most GWS games?
We just had our 2nd best game of the year in a milestone game.Hoping thats a turnaround on our luck.

Lets hope that helps him make a decision and sign on.

I noticed it... when looking at that list compiling my post. ;)

Correction: I was right on Shaw (two more games to go) but stuffed up on Mumford - his 100th for the club is this week.
  • Week 15: Mumford's 100th with the club; Mumford's 200th; Perryman's 50th.
  • Week 16: Shaw's 150th with the club.
  • Week 17: Lloyd's 50th.
  • Week 18: MdB's 200th; Coniglio and Whitfield's 150th; Corr's 100th; Daniels' 50th.
  • Week ??: Finlayson's 50th, if/when he plays next.

Other notes of interest after the Fremantle game:
  • Phil (when he next plays) is only one game below a 50% win rate
  • Whitfield is now one game above a 50% win rate.
  • Corr is one game below a 50% win rate.
  • Keeffe is one game above a 50% win rate (heh).
  • Hill is one game above a 50% win rate (double heh).

If selected it will be game 100 for Reid in the North game

A long journey but he has made it and he has been a versatile player with many injuries and reserves games early on for the club and not sure what the future holds for him career wise but with the youth around I would think this is his last year and hopefully he does stick around in a role for the club

Twelve years and nine months, four delistings, two clubs, 100 games.

Sam Reid has taken more detours than most on the journey to his ton, but the GIANTS defender will finally reach the milestone when he lines up against North Melbourne on Sunday.

Only six players in VFL/AFL history have had to wait longer than the 4671 days it will take from Reid's debut in round 22, 2008 to joining the 100 club, and none have waited longer in the past 93 years.

congratulations to Sam, the very embodiment of NEVER SURRENDER.
