Every clubs throw aways seem to be good fits for GC. Not enough list spots available though.
Enough , no need to protect the kids anymore . The team are all make up of other club throw aways more than kids now .

Surely the Swans don't get both of Townsend and Menzel?

Why not? They are both delisted, Swans have cleared plenty of space and if there isn't much interest...both players would be inclined to accept deals if they want to continue playing.

That all being said, I'd say only one of them lands at the Swans, but both with likely land in Sydney.

Tom Bugg has become extremely overrated since being axed by Melbourne.
If he could kick for goal he’d be in our best 18. Applies genuine pressure but also flies for the ball and can bring it to ground. Has averaged 20 touches a game before as a tagger too. Disappointed to see him delisted especially given we traded Kent for nothing. Reckon he’d actually pretty good for Carlton, he plays a lot taller than his height and having him in conjunction with Harry McKay and either de Koenig/Kreuzer/Kerr could free up C.Curnow to play a bit more in the guts.

Must be some off field stuff if he doesn’t get picked up IMO. Reckon GWS could also use him for sure, he can’t be much worse than Sam Reid and he has really good endurance and work ethic so he’ll make Bonar earn a spot

GWS should get one of Townsend for Bugg for sure. Absolute no brainer, they already need forward fifty pressure but play better as is with Cameron at CHF and Greene Himmelberg making leads inside forward fifty.

I think suggesting we need to fix forward defensive pressure is bit of lazy analysis. True in 2017 we addressed it successfully in the draft last year. Langdon and Daniels plus the development of Lloyd did that.

Townsend offers a different type if pressure, about strength rather than speed. Potentially useful in the mix for sure depending on opposition strengths and match ups.If he can lock down a Sicily or a Lever and kick a goal or two he'd play every week.

I like Bugg for his agressive attitude, but he wont pressure Bonar or even Shipley much for a midfield spot. His role as a run-with player would likely compete more with Sam Reid, and free Tomlinson from that task to play a more attacking running game. Again happy to have him in the mix, very happy in fact, but as useful depth and a tactical negative option.
