Hi All. First post here.
Like the Telemarketer, I was at yesterday's game as well and know a bit about Rogerson.
You wouldn't have noticed him before because he came to Redlands mid season. He captained the U16 premiership winning team at Morningside last season and started there in the 18's this year. Morningside didn't allow the 17'yo to play ressies so he switched to Redlands. He goes to V.Point school and is coached there by Nathan Gilliland.
I think you'll find he was the player of the championships at the schools U15 tournament a couple of years back? The interesting thing about Rogerson is that his body is underdeveloped compared with those he is bracketed with. Tickner, Conway, Ruttlidge, Penndlebury have been solid lads since U12's.
The thing that impresses is the peripheral stuff. His shepherding, smothering, chasing, tackling and blocking are great. Clouston and the others will be loving having him in the forward 50 helping them get 1 out on their man. His voice is loud and he's not scared to point and tell senior players where to go. Yesterday at a couple of stoppages he was on Brennan and you'd be excused for thinking Rogerson was the experienced AFL player.
Certainly one to watch. His snap on the left for a goal yesterday on a tight angle and a running overhead mark on the grandstand wing reminded me of Nat Fyfe.
