Would be very hard to drop anyone from last weeks game & the only changes to be made should only come through injury.

Remember last year Barry Hall saying that Bassett was always very tough to play on & if my memory is as per-usual bright & vim Bassett does have a pretty good record against him so if we are serious about Sydney i would expect the Hound to have first crack on Hall.

You are right. For some reason Hall is the only gorilla that Bassett plays well against. His record against Hall is very impressive. Hall has never had a big game on Bassett. If winning was the one and only objective then I think you would play Bassett on Hall BUT I think we really need to see where Rutten is at so I would give the job to Rutten. It will be GIGANTIC test for the Truck.

He still really should be playing as a forward though...but Welsh's form at FF really leaves his best position taken.

At least he's versatile.
Yeah leave Welsh at FF (given he has kicked 15 goals in the last 2 games), but Rutten could play CHF. Would try & stretch Sydney's smalish backline & play another tall - be it a fit Hentschel, Bock &/or Watts. Reckon Stevens would be keen to prove something to Roos.

Don't get me wrong i'm not bagging the guy just think the past couple of weeks he looks lost as to what to do when he does get the ball, seems to just kick it long & high to no one in particular.

I know they're gonna show faith in him which is good, but a run in The Eagles for a week or Two then bring him straight back in wouldn't do him any harm he'll build up confidence in the SANFL.

I reckon by his own admission he's played more games than he thought he would this year.

Serious question How do you guys think he'll cope playing on a Craig Bolton, Leo Barry or Adam Goodes this week?
It seems to me that at least one person each week is suggesting we drop Bock ever since his 1st game. I think he has shown the benefit of playing week in - week out at the top level - he is not an 18 yr old - many guys his age are established players in all teams.

Would plat Hound on Hall as in his current form Barry would cut Rutten up badly. Plus, despite the BBB tag, Barry generally plays more of a running, hard leading game which Rutten probably doesn't have the juice for.

This does not leave too many good match ups for Rutten. As Kane suggested, we need to stretch Swannies smaller back line. Perhaps Rutten is the man for the job here? Swans smaller back line means that Welsh is no chance of a repeat performance this week. Four goals from Welshy would be an excellent result IMO.

Persist with the kids at all costs.

nope because ben rutten will get the job after his performance on nietz, i liked the way he didnt drop his head and stuck to the task after having an early goal kicked on him too.

Spot On Rutten played Neitz very well and wore him like a glove, the more experiance he gets on quality forwards the better off he will be,Rutten will definately have first crack at Hall;)

I believe most said Neitz would cut him up badly too...

You don't know until you try.

Rutten should get the job, and if Hall looks to have his measure, make a move. That's why there are four quarters of football. To test out potential match-ups, and change them if they fail.

Unless you are Gary Ayres, in which case you leave the hopeless) Perrie on Alastair Lynch for 4 quarters so he can kick 7 goals.

In a cut-throat final no less.

Oh and 'Voss won't hurt us' either.

Yes, it is always effective to pretend that one of the best players in the competition actually pulled out before the game, carry this pretense into the game and cover your eyes to his presence when he appears on the field.

Might just make him think he's not there!

Oh wait, it didn't.
